第四部分 写作
第一节 应用文写作
【参考范文】
Be a filial person
As a Chinese saying goes, filial piety is the most important of all virtues. Filial piety is Chinese most important moral concept for more than 3,000 years. In general, filial piety requires children to offer love, respect, support, and deference to their parents and other elders in the family. The concept also applies to all elders — teachers, professional superiors, or anyone who is older in age—and even the state.
As a student, I will try my best to accompany my parents, help them do some housework and make them happy. The most important is that I should study hard. Good grades are the greatest comfort to my parents. In addition, only with skills can I better serve the society and the country.
第二节 读后续写
【参考范文】
Finally, Michael touched something. A shoe, then an ankle — It was Tiara! He scooped her into his arms and stood. Turning, he fought through the smoke and made his way to the outside. Michael put Tiara down on the doorway. And He started CPR — the first time he’d ever done so. The women stood behind him, praying silently. Soon a slight cough came from Tiara’s throat. He gave five more breaths. She opened her eyes and took a breath on her own.
Tiara was safe now; however, Michael fainted down to the ground, unconscious. When he woke up, Michael found himself in the hospital, surrounded by his neighbors who constantly said thank-you to the hero. Michael spent over a week in the hospital. Tiara was released from the hospital after a few days. The fire sickened Michael’s lung disease, and he feels the effects even two years later. “It’s a small price to pay,” he always replies. “I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Wouldn’t give it a second thought.”

W: Yes, it’s nine fifteen.

M: Well, you can never imagine how cold it is in the library.
Text 2
W: So you work in London. What do you do there?
M: I am an assistant at a government office.
W: Oh, sounds important.
Text 3
W: Look at that! It’s commercial after commercial. It’s terrible how advertisers are going after kids.
M: Relax. They are just doing their job.
Text 4
M: So, have you finished reading the book you borrowed from the library? It’s important for today’s class. Umm, Jane is absent. Where is she?
W: Mr. Smith, she has a bad cold and has asked for leave.
Text 5
W: The room attendant delivered some laundry to my room, but it’s not mine. Mine is a dark blue silk dress.
M: Sorry about the mistake. We’ll deliver the right one to you right away.
Text 6
W: Hello, I ordered a pair of shoes from your website last week, but they still haven’t arrived. Could you help to check my order?
M: Sure, Madam. Can you tell me your order number and your shipping address?
W: The number is 514229, and the address is 221B Baker Street, London.
M: OK. According to our system, your order was shipped on November 22nd, and it’s scheduled to arrive tomorrow, which is November 26th.
W: I see. Thanks.
M: You’re welcome.
Text 7
W: Thanks for taking me to the amusement park, Ricky. It’s the best day I’ve ever had in these few months.
M: You’re more than welcome.
W: It was so much better than my last trip with Bill.
M: What happened?
W: We went to the NASCAR races and he brought along his best friend.
M: You never like to hang out with strangers. Two’s company; three’s a crowd, I guess.

M: Ha ha. Hey! There’s a birthday party at Steve’s house tomorrow night. Interested?
W: Sorry, I’ve already made plans with Mary, but I’m free next week.

W: I’d love to.
Text 8
M: What book are you reading, Hannah?
W: It’s a story about Hester Lincoln, a woman who graduated from our high school. She went to the South Pole.
M: I read about her, too! A journey over three months! Amazing!
W: Really incredible. Have you ever done anything as crazy as that? You’ve always talked about how you wish to explore the Amazon forest.
M: Actually, I climbed the Himalayas last year.
W: Really?
M: Yes. The whole month was exhausting — but thrilling. All the team members encouraged and helped each other. I got sick on the mountain, though.
W: It must be an unforgettable experience. Maybe I should think seriously about a big life adventure. I’ve always wanted to ride a Trans-Siberian train.
M: That sounds more relaxing than climbing a mountain. Let me know if you need someone to join you!
Text 9
M: How can I get to the downtown movie theater, Rose?
W: You’re going to watch a movie?
M: Yeah, I have asked Jennifer out for the coming Saturday night.
W: Good. But why not ask her out for the live concert? It’s on this Thursday and Friday night, and it’s much more interesting.
M: She doesn’t have time on weekdays, you know.
W: Alright. Anyway, the directions: first, drive down 1st Street, going west until you reach Pine Street. Then turn left, and the movie theater is the second building on the right.
M: Got it. Can you recommend any nice restaurants?
W: The Blue Flamingo serves excellent Spanish food. Starting from the movie theater, go south on Pine Street, cross 2nd Street, and you’ll get to Palm Street. The restaurant is there.
M: OK. Is it open late?
W: It’s open on weekdays from 9:00 in the morning to 9:30 at night, but it stays open half an hour later on weekends.
M: Great. Thanks a lot.
