    Jade Jhnsn is taking an upper­level advertising curse at the University f Nrth Carlina Wilmingtn. Fr the class, he has had t rganize and prmte a cntest via Facebk, Twitter and Instagram, channels that are cmmnly used by advertising firms.
    “A lt f times students prefer nt t use certain scial media, but are frced t because f the class,” says Jade.
    Sme students may be reluctant t create an accunt, but Jade says that it was helpful because scial media skills mean better jb pprtunities in tday's wrld.
    Mre cllege classes are appearing that are designed specially t teach students abut scial media, ffering them a different lk int smething they may use n a daily basis.
    Jenna Kapsis, a senir at William Patersn University, was required t pst tw Tweets n Twitter and ne update n Facebk per week in her Digital and Scial Media Cmmunicatin class. The curse had a specific Facebk page where students wuld create discussin grups and pst links.
    “Sme f the tpics included scial media manners, nline marketing and current events,” Kapsis says.
    As technlgy cntinues t develp, clleges and universities will likely cntinue t find ways t cmbine it int their teaching. Whether it's t create discussin grups, carry ut plans, r cmmunicate with students, prfessrs are ensuring that students can see the ptential f mastering scial media platfrms.

    I've just gt t talk abut this prblem I'm having with my pstman. It all began a year ag, after the birth f his first child. Nt wanting t appear rude, I asked him abut the baby. The next week, nt wanting him t think I had asked ut f mere pliteness the week befre, I asked all abut the baby again. Nw I can't break the habit. I freeze whenever I see him cming. The wrds “Hw's the baby?” cme ut n their wn. It hlds me up. It hlds him up. S why can't I stp it? The answer is that I want him t like me. Cme t think f it, I want everyne t like me.
    My sister had the same prblem with the caretaker f her blck f flats: “All he ever des is cmplain; he talks at me rather than t me, never listens t a wrd I say, and yet fr sme reasn I'm always really nice t him. I'm wrried in case I have a difficulty ne day, and he wn't lift a finger t help.”
