Lead-in | Review: Translate the phrases in Unit 2 into English. |
Step 1 | Present some sentences with adverbial clauses. Ask Ss to read and think. |
Step 2 | Present more sentences with adverbial clauses. |
Step 3 | Introduce the concept of Adverb Clauses of Time. |
Step 4 | Explain the use of when and while by giving examples. Make Ss understand the differences between them. |
Step 5 | Explain the use of before, after, as soon as, since, until. |
Step 6 | Complete the sentences in Activity 1. |
Step 7 | Do more exercise. |
Step 8 | Exercise from Senior High School Entrance Examination. |
Step 9 | Ask Ss to talk about their holiday plans, giving some phrases. |
Step 10 | Read the table in Activity 7 and first get familiar with the information. |
Step 11 | Listen and complete the table. Check the answers as a class. |
Step 12 | Listen again and answer the questions. |
Step 13 | Free talk Ask Ss to talk about the four speakers’ holiday plans. Which one is the most interesting? |
Step 14 | Present the map, pictures and a passage about Greece. |
Step 15 | First ask Ss to read the passage in Activity 9 and then complete it with the sentences in the box. |
