本课时内容为Misadventures in English,讲的是英语学习过程当中可能碰到的一些误解。这些误解产生的表面原因是单词/短语等的字面意义和内涵不一致,但深层次的原因还在于不同英语语言国家的文化差异,因此教师在授课过程中不能仅仅局限于让学生弄明白教材中出现的这几个词(组),更重要的是让学生体会文化差异,培养跨文化意识,树立正确的英语学习观念。

Step 1 Warming-up
1.Read the fllwing expressins and guess their meanings.
2.Match the meanings t the expressins.
3.Ask and answer: Des the answer meet yur explanatin? What’s yur pinin abut these expressins?
Step 2. Predictin
Lk at the title f the passage and guess what the passage is abut.
(mis- is a prefix and misadventure is the ppsite f adventure, which means “bad luck”)
Step 3. Reading
Read the passage and circle the expressins that caused the misunderstandings.
(Tips: When yu are reading, dn’t ignre the pictures, because they are nt nly a very imprtant part f the passage, but als give yu sme infrmatin and help yu understand.)
Step 4. Matching
Here are the definitins f the expressins that caused the misunderstandings. Match the definitins t the psts.
