Teaching prcedures
Step 1 Warming-up
First, I will use sme dialgues t revise the structures ‘ It’s + adj + t d’ and ‘shuld (shuldn’t) d’. I will talk with my classmates abut their summer hliday. Fr example, I will have a talk like this: Hw did yu spend yur summer hliday? Hw did yu feel? The new term begins. What shuld we d? What shuldn’t we d? What is it imprtant / necessary / useful… fr us t d? What isn’t it … fr us t d?
Step 2 Presenting
After having a talk, I will say, “OK, it’s time fr us t learn English with Eddie and Hb. We shuld listen t their talk carefully. After listening, Please tell me what Hb brings t Eddie.”
Step 3 Practicing
1. Play the recrder. Then ask ne f the students t answer the abve questin. (Hb brings Eddie the newspaper.)
2. I will play the recrder again. Then ask sme mre questins:
1) What d yu think f Hb when he brings Eddie the newspaper? (It’s nice f him t bring Eddie the newspaper.)
2) What des Hb ask Eddie t read? (He ask Eddie t read his stars.)
3) What des the newspaper say? (It says Eddie will have lts t eat and drink tday.)
4) What des Hb d at last? Hw des Eddie feel? (Hb eats up Eddie’s fd. Eddie feels angry.)
Step 4 Read and act.
I will ask my students t read the dialgues after the tape and then tgether. Befre acting ut the dialgue, I will ask students t read it in rles.
Step 5 Presenting
I will shw students sme cards f star signs. Explain that they are western star signs. The star sign system is based n the mnth yu were brn in, rather than the year yu mere brn in.
Step 6 Practicing
1. Teach student hw t read the name f each star sign crrectly.
2. Explain t students that each picture in Part A represents a star sign. Ask them t cmplete Part A.
3. Ask students t cmplete Part B. Explain each star sign represents a perid f time in a year.
4. Ask students whether they knw what their star sign is. Encurage them t say the name f their star sign alud.
Step 7 Cnslidatin Exercise
Translatin:
