    In this perid, students will be guided t master the usage and rules f the present perfect passive tense. Tw cntextual exercises including pictures f reprting lss t the plice and intrductin t 3D printing technlgy will help use the grammar item better.
    Students will als learn t build up vcabulary describing careers in science. In wrd learning, students can fllw the rules f wrd building and meanwhile discuss what career interests them mst. In the part f listening, understanding inventin stries frm listening will strengthen students’ listening ability.
    Thrugh the cmprehensive training f skills in real cntext, Students can deepen the understanding f this unit tpic, imprve the ability t use integrated speech.
    1. Guide the students t master the usage and rules f the present perfect passive.
    2. Help the students accumulate English vcabulary describing careers in science.
    3. Strengthen students’ listening ability t understanding inventin stries and enhance their ral expressin ability.
    4. Deepen the understanding f this unit tpic, imprve the ability t use integrated speech thrugh the cmprehensive training f skills.
    1. Help students t summarize the rules f the present perfect passive and crrectly use it in different real situatins.
    2. Imprve the students’ listening ability t understanding inventin stries.
    3. Enhance the students’ ral expressin ability by telling the stry behind an inventin.
    Step 1 Grammar learning --Present perfect passive
    Activity 1 Definitin and sentence patterns
    1. Cmpare the fllwing pairs f sentences and identify the basic sentence patterns f the present perfect and the present perfect passive.
    2. Review the definitin f the present perfect tense and master the active and passive structures f the present perfect tense
    Ntes:
    3. The tw structures abve can be transfrmed with the same meaning.
    Step 2 Practice
    Activity 2
    1. Rewrite the underlined sentences in the passage using the present perfect passive.
    ① It has already affected many things in ur lives.
    ② Sme restaurants in Lndn have served 3D-printed hamburgers t custmers.
    ③ The mst significance success that peple have achieved t date is in medicine.
    ④ They have made human bdy parts, including a beating heart, with 3D printing technlgy.
    ⑤ Peple have given a new 3D-printed shell t a turtle injured in a frest fire.

    Lk at the picture and describe what has happened t the plice.

    Activity 4
    1. Have the students read the pictures and learn abut wrds describing careers in science.
    2. Lead the students t learn abut the rules f wrd-building with the help f “Learning t learn”. Pay attentin t suffix such as -er/ -ist/ -ian.
    Activity 5 and Activity 6
    1. Fill in the blanks with the wrds in Activity 4.
    2. Wrk in pairs. Talk abut sme careers in science which interests yu mst.
    Step 4 Befre listening
    1. Lead the students t read “Did Yu Knw?” s that they shw a great interest in inventin stry.
    2. Give students sme minutes t read the pictures in preparatin f predicting the cntent f listening.
    Step 5 While listening
    Activity 7
    1. Listen t the tape fr the first time and understand the basic infrmatin f the cnversatin t number the pictures in the crrect rder. .
    2. Listen again and check the answer with the class.
    Activity 8
    1. Guide the students t further get mre detailed infrmatin f the listening material after finishing Activity 7.
    2. Fcus n hw the speakers describe the stry behind an inventin and take ntes f key expressins t cmplete the exercise in Activity 8.
    Step 6 Pst -listening
    1. Wrk in pairs. Encurage the students t expand yur thinking and create yur wn situatins in which tw students have a cnversatin abut an inventin stry.
    2. If time desn’t permits, the students prepare fr a stry f a famus inventr fr daily reprt next perid.
    Step 6 Language appreciatin
