Archaclgists in Nrway have discvered a 1, 300- year- ld ship burial that exists befre the Viking Age. It's nw the ldest knwn ship burial in Scandinavia, accrding t a statement frm the Nrwegian University f Science and Technlgy.
Researchers discvered the ship burial while investigating a large, grassy hill in the castal cmmunity f Leka. Knwn as the Herlaugshagen burial mund (墓地) , it measures 23 feet tall and197 feet in diameter. Given its size, researchers have lng suspected it cntained a ship. Ship burials were nce a traditinal custm that invlved burying the dead persn inside their ship and cvering the ship with dirt.
