    Teaching Content

    1To listen, speak, read, and write the words: supermarket, taxi, sweater, cool, young, clothes;

    2To listen, speak, and read the words and phrases: poor, dead, quickly, lose;

    3To understand the usage of the simple past tense.

    4To understand and master the sentence structures: What did you do last Sunday?  I saw a film.

    5To understand, speak and use the sentence structures to make conversations (Who took you there? How did you go there? My uncle bought me a red sweater. It looks nice on you).

    6To comprehend the text, answer some questions about it, then retell it.

    Teaching Aims

    1Knowledge aims:

    1To listen, speak, read, and write the words: Supermarket, taxi, sweater, cool, young, clothes;

    2To listen, speak, and read the words: poor, dead, quickly, lose ;

    3To master the sentences: What did you do last Sunday?  I saw a film. Who took you there? How did you go there? My uncle bought me a red sweater. It looks nice on you.

    2To master the rules of the verbs forms of the simple past tense.

    To master the Why-questions of the simple past tense.

    1Sound recording (To train the students' ability of listening and speaking).

    2TTP (To express the knowledge tools that can image and offer help to solve the Teaching Difficult Points.)

    Teaching Procedures

    Step1Revision:

    Free talk: --- What did you do last Saturday?

    Step2Presentation:

    Learn the new words and phrases.

    (read, translate) supermarket (super+ market), taxi [ˈtæksi], sweater

    [ˈswetə(r)], cool /u:/

    Ⅱ.Learn the dialogue;

    1Q: 1What did Kate do last Saturday?

    2Who took with Kate?

    3What did they buy?

    4How did they get there?

    5The sweater is nice, isn't it?

    2listen to the sound recording and answer the questions.

    3Read the dialogue after the recording.

    Step3Practice:

    Read the dialogue;

    (CAI/Flip charts)To offer key words, pictures, and sound recording, let the students to read

    According to the information's, let the students to retell the text.

    Step4Consolidation and extension:

    Act the dialogue.

    Homework-writing

    Act the dialogue in pairs or recite it.
