    Hw t Grw Organic Tmates in a Cntainer
    Anyne wh has seen tmates grwing in a garden knws that they tend t be huge plants. __1__ S the first thing t d when cnsidering grwing tmates in a pt is t find a suitable variety.
    After yu find the perfect plant, it is time t plant it. In general, plastic r fiberglass pts are best fr grwing tmates. They dn't dry ut quickly. While tmates lve heat, they dn't like being dry. And dry sil can reduce fruit prductin. Besides, tmates need t grw in a reasnably large pt. A pt must be 8 inches deep. __2__ A 12­r 16­inch pt is even better.
    Any gd quality rganic ptting sil wrks fr tmates. Dn't use sil dug directly frm the garden. __3__ Cmpst (混合肥料) based sil, whether purchased r mixed frm yur special recipe, is nice. When planting the tmat, put sme sil in the bttm f the pt and set the plant in. After yu have the plant set at the prper level, fill in arund it with sil. The sil shuld g up t abut an inch belw the edge f the pt t allw rm fr watering.
