一、文本分析

本单元的主题是“节日与庆典”，主要内容包括节日的习俗与庆典活动 (what)、节日与庆典的缘由和内涵 (why) 和个人节日的经历与感受 (how )。本单元reading and thinking部分的阅读篇章以“我们为何庆祝节日”为标题，探讨人们为何欢庆节日，对世界各地的人们庆祝节日的现象追根溯源，进而谈论节日的传承与发展变化。

本文是一篇典型的论说文。第一段讲节日是全世界普遍存在的文化现象，但又有着各种各样的起源；第二段介绍了收获的节日几乎存在于每一种文化之中的缘由；第三段第三段指出节日的传统习俗会随着时间变化而变化；第四段介绍了节日正变得越来越商业化的现象以及人们对此的不同观点；第五段阐释了节日是全世界人们社会生活中重要的组成部分。

本语篇从空间和时间上探讨节日的内涵和在当今社会的重要意义。空间上，在世界各地，尽管人们欢庆的节日名称和庆祝形式不尽相同，但其实质往往很相似，因为节日凝聚了人类最为质朴和真挚的情感，寄托了人们最美好的愿望和情怀。时间上，尽管随着社会和科技发展，节日的庆典习俗不断改变或是逐渐商业化，但是节日的内涵经久不衰，能够在人类历史长河中得以延续和传承。

二、学情分析

针对我校学生的基础薄弱的情况来看，该教学设计是针对高二上学期的一节新授课。通过对必修一和必修二的学习，学生已经具备了一定的词汇量基础，也掌握了一定的阅读策略和语篇分析能力。本单元的主题是“节日与庆典”，而这个话题因为与我们的生活联系紧密，所以学生比较熟悉，更容易激发起他们的兴趣，从而积极参与到课堂中来。

三、教学目标

在本课学习结束时，学生能够：

1. 掌握这篇文章的主旨大意，并找到每个段落的主题句；
2. 了解节日风俗习惯的发展与变迁，感悟节日的内涵与意义；
3. 在学习本文语篇结构的基础上，写一篇关于节日的短文。

四、教学重点

1. 引导学生结合文本特点快速而准确地找到主题句；
2. 指导学生正确理解和掌握阅读文本中的新词汇；
3. 引导学生了解不同国家、不同民族的节日文化，梳理、分析和提炼节日的精神内涵，理解世界各国人民共同的情感和精神追求。

五、教学资源

教材、多媒体课件、多媒体设备。

六、教学步骤

1. Step 1: Lead-in 利用图片来让学生猜节日 “ Guess what these festivals are in the pictures”，以引起学生的兴趣。
2. Step 2：小组讨论活动。“What festivals do you celebrate with your family each year?”

3. Step 3：略读了解文章大意并完成相关任务。“Go scanning and finish the following two tasks”：
