Hwever, in the late 1990s, Iceland was als knwn as a cuntry with ne f the highest numbers f teen drug abuse (滥用) in Eurpe. “There were large grups f teenagers getting hpelessly drunk,” American researcher Harvey Milkman said.

With the help f researchers including Harvey Milkman, the gvernment began a special experiment, helping teenagers stay away frm drugs. The prgram, called Yuth Iceland, tried t give teens mre meaningful and enjyable things t d. It made kids feel like they were part f smething. It als encuraged parents t make time fr their children and t actively take part in their lives.
    The gvernment spent millins f dllars t supprt new prgrams fr sprts, music, arts and dance. Lw-incme (低收入的) families—wh culdn’t affrd t sign their kids up fr sprts prgrams r art classes—were given a special card f $325 a year. This made it pssible fr thse parents t take part in after-class activities with their children. Besides, kids between the ages f 13 and 16 were nt allwed t g utside after 10 pm in winter r after midnight in summer.
    Tday, Iceland has the lwest rate (比率) f teen drug abuse in Eurpe. In 1998, befre Yuth Iceland, 42% f 15- and 16-year-lds reprted getting drunk. Last year, that number had drpped t 5%.     The Château de Chambrd is ne f the largest castles arund the wrld. It sits in the Lire Valley. Being at the heart f Eurpe’s largest enclsed wded park, Chambrd, it was built fr King Francis Ⅰ t serve as a hunting ldge. It is ne f the wrld’s best-knw castles in the wrld because f its French Renaissance (文藝复兴) building.
    Château de Clemenceau
    As ne f the mst famus castles in the Lire Valley, the castle was built during the 11th century n the River Cher. It was passed thrugh many hands. The castle was nt destryed during the French Revlutin because it was the nly bridge acrss the river fr many miles.
    Château de Chantilly
    This histric castle sits in the twn f Chantilly, France. This beautiful castle is made up f tw buildings: the Petit Château built arund 1560 fr Anne de Mntmrency, and the Grand Château which was destryed during the French Revlutin and rebuilt in the 1870s.     S, the next time yu lie awake at night after a bad dream, remember that it may be the brain’s way f putting yur fears behind yu and readying yu fr the future.     “Can I get a light?” This questin is amng the mst cmmn between smkers. What if this questin was t cme frm an unusual surce? The Natinal Health Prmtin Fundatin upladed an anti-smking advertisement nt YuTube. The anti-smking ad has quickly been knwn as the “mst pwerful anti-smking ad”.
    The anti-smking vide, called the “Smking Kid” features children walking up t adult smkers asking fr a light. The children in the ad are actrs but the adults smking are unsuspecting participants in the prject.
    The vide begins with the statement, “adults knw that smking is harmful, but dn’t remind themselves f this fact.” Once a “smking kid” appraches the adults, every adult asked is shcked that a child with a cigarette in hand is asking fr a light. The first adult starts by saying, “I’m nt giving it t yu,” and the vide ges n t state “every adult filmed said n and reminded the children that smking is bad.”
    Befre ging away, the kid hands each adult a bklet after being turned dwn fr a light. The bklet says, “Yu wrry abut me, but why nt abut yurself?” Each adult lks arund fr the child as their faces are filled with cnfusin and discmfrt.
    The vide shws that a few f the smkers quickly threw away their cigarettes r put their cigarettes away, shwing that this experiment was effective at that mment.
