The numbers 23 and 5 (2+3) are predminant in my life. My father is the eldest f five children (2 bys, 3 girls). My father, his brther, and his middle sister were all brn n Octber 23 with different years (the lder and yunger sister were brn n July 7 f different years). My father and mther were married n September 23. Being the first brn, I was brn n December 23. I was married n January 23. My favrite cusin (we're 2 mnths apart) was als married n January 23 different year. I went int labr with my first child n September 23. I started my first real jb (aside frm babysitting as a teenager) n August 23. My father died n July 23. My paternal grandmther died n Nvember 23. Several years after my divrce, I met my first lesbian lver n April 23, which lasted 3 years. My first experience with a man after seven years happened t be n August 23.
I was wrking fr a nt-fr-prfit rganizatin in New Yrk City fr abut a year when my sister, wh lives in Califrnia, called t tell me that the secretary at her best friend's jb was leaving the cmpany and she wanted me t submit my resume. I tld her that I was fine where I was and ur rganizatin shuld receive the federal funding we applied fr, which wuld allw me t wrk fr a salary cmpared t the stipend I was getting at the time. Unbeknwnst t me, my sister submitted my resume anyway and a few days later I was ffered the psitin ver the phne. I guess my sister's excitement was cntagius because I ended up accepting the psitin and gave my ntice at the rganizatin. I started my new jb n May 5, 2003, which equals t 5/5/5. When I started my new jb, I fund ut that my tw bsses' bth shared mine and my father's birthday; Octber 23 and December 23.
Less than a mnth after mving t Califrnia, I received a call frm the nn-prfit I was wrking fr in NYC infrming me that the federal funding had cme in. They ffered me a psitin as prgram directr with a salary f nearly $55,000, which was mre than twice what I was making at my new jb. I was t happy in Califrnia t g back. Had I std in NY just a little while lnger, the federal funding wuld have been in which wuld have prvided me with the salary that I've been waiting fr. If that had happened, I wuld have never mved t Califrnia where I've experienced the mst peace and happiness ever! Yes, I d believe everything happens fr a reasn!!
