Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Greet the class. 2. Free talk. What day is it today? What’s the date today? It’s … o’clock. What are you doing ? What is … doing ? 3. Read the texts in this unit together. 4. Play a Sharp Eyes game to read and spell the key words. 5. Review the usages of the present continuous tense. 6. Open their books to Page 56 and Page 57, read and understand the sentences in Main scene. Then recite by themselves. Step 2 Presentation & Practice 1. Ask and answer. Show the picture of a cinema. T: Look! This is the cinema. Zoom and Zip are watching a film in the cinema. Teach the word film. T: What should we behave in the cinema? Lead the Ss to say talk quietly & keep clean. 2. Show the pictures of a gorilla. Ask the Ss what it is eating. Lead the Ss to say the gorilla is eating a banana. 3. Show the picture of Zoom and ask the Ss what Zoom is eating. Help the Ss say Zoom is eating popcorn. Focus on the word popcorn and have the Ss repeat. 4. Watch the story with the questions. A. What is the gorilla doing? B. Does Zip like the film? C. Is the film exciting? D. What is Zoom doing? 5. Read the story after the T. Then check the answers together. 6. Focus on the new words gorilla, film, popcorn, exciting & sign. 7. Read the story together. Step 3 Consolidation & Extension 1. Read in roles. Then check some groups. 2. Act the story out. 3. Read and retell the story. 4. Do exercises. A. Fill the blanks with the right forms. B. Write the words according to the first letter. Step 4 Summary & Homework 1. Sum up the main points in this unit and emphasize the difficult points. Check the difficulties. 2. Do homework. A. Read and act out the story to your parents. B. Learn how to be polite in our daily life from the video. | ||
