    1、 It is hard t say the first day f schl in the United States because when the first day f schl is and what happens n the first day f schl usually are different by districts (地区).
    The first day f schl fr many schl districts in different states is n the day after the first Mnday in September. In sme ther schl districts, schl begins in mid-t-late August. Fr example, the Denver, Clrad schls g back in mid-August and schls in Cleveland, Ohi start back usually ne week befre the first Mnday in September. The Bstn, Chicag, New Yrk City and San Dieg schls start back n the Tuesday r Wednesday after the first Mnday in September.
    Schls in Cleveland, Ohi used t start the schl year n the day after the first Mnday in September, but in the 1976-1977 and 1977-1978 academic years, the schl year was affected by several bad snwstrms, extremely cld. In the 1978-1979 schl year, the Ohi Department f Educatin mved the start f the year t late August, ne week befre the first Mnday in September. This went int effect in the 1980-1981 schl year.
    In mst schl districts in Utah, the schl year starts between August 25 and August 30, and ges until the last week f May r the first week in June next year.
    In American high schls, the freshmen class usually ges back ne r tw days befre the rest f the schl bdy fr an rientatin (迎新) perid. An rientatin perid helps the freshmen get familiar with their new schl, its rules, and surrundings.
    In sme schls, the freshmen classes have their phtgraphs taken fr identificatin purpses. Sme high schls have tried t make the first week f schl fun fr incming freshmen.
