三、核心语法
A althugh和thugh的使用
【一语击破】
A．两词的共性
两词同义可换用，但althugh语气较重，通常放在句首并用于正式场合。如：
I'd quite like t g ut,(al) thugh it is a bit late.
我很想外出，虽然为时稍晚。
B．只用thugh不用althugh的情况
1．用thugh时，可将强调的词前置，但althugh不能。如：
Pr thugh／as he is, he is happy.
虽然他穷，但过得很愉快。
2．althugh只用作连词，而thugh除作连词外，还可用作副词，常置句末，句子较长时，也置于句中。如：
It's hard wrk, I enjy it thugh.
这是苦差事，可我干得颇有乐趣。
3. I thugh可用于even thugh，as thugh等结构，althugh则不能。如：
Yu lk as thugh(= as if) yu knw each ther.
看起来你们好像彼此认识，
4．thugh常用于省略句。如：
Thugh( he is) alne, he is happy.
虽然他一个人，他很开心。
B s. that和such. that的使用
s.…that和such.…that这两个结构中that引导的分句都是结果状语从句，意思都是“（如此……）以至……”。由于其前的s是副词，such是形容词，因此这两个句型在构成上也有一定的差异。
s. that用法
s…that…引导三种不同的句子结构：
1．s+形容词／副词+that从句。如：
He did s well in the examinatin that everyne praised him.他考得那么好，人人都称赞他。
2．s+形容词+a(n)十单数名词+ that从句。如：
It was s gd an exhibitin that l went t see it several times．展览是那么好，结果我就去看了好几次。
3．s+ many/much/few/little+名词+that从句。如：
I've had s many falls that I'm black and blue all ver.
我跌了那么多跤，全身跌得青一块，紫一块的。
such. that用法
such.…that…引导两种不同的句子结构：
1．such +a(n)+形容词+单数名词+that从句。如：
It was such an interesting film that I saw it twice.
这是一部很有意思的电影，我看了两次。
2．such+形容词+复数名词／不可数名词+that从句。
s. that和such. that的转化
她非常诚实，大家都信赖她。
She is s hnest that everybdy trusts her.
→She is such an hnest girl that everybdy trusts her.
→She is s hnest a girl that everybdy trusts her.
C s that的使用
目的从句表示动机（即一种可能性），并非事实，只是想要达到某个结果的意愿，因而从句中多用假定性的谓语动词。常有can，many，will，culd，might，wuld，shuld等情态动词。情态动词本身并无词汇意义，只是一种虚拟用法。结果从句表示客观事实，所以用陈述语气的谓语动词，从句中常无情态动词。如：
I always write s carefully that I may make my meaning clear．我写作总是字斟句酌，是为了让人看懂我的意思。
