- Learn about the meaning of text—The Dream Team.

Step 1. Analysis of the student.
Homework check.
Review: In last lesson, we learned modern Olympics. In the modern Olympics, some things are the same no matter which country is hosting and some things change. Then ask some Ss to talk about the differences in modern Olympics and ancient Olympics.
Step 2. Lead in.
1.Greet the students in English and make sure they can response correctly.
Do the duty report: a student on duty can say whatever he/she likes to say.
2.Come to "THINK ABOUT IT".
Which sports team do you like best? Why?
What is the most important part of a team?
Step 3. New lesson.
No. 1 prepare lessons before class.
Teach the new words and phrases. Make sure the Ss can read it correctly.
No. 2Text:Give them some time to read the text themselves. Then let them act out the dialogue in groups. Correct their pronunciation when necessary.
Read the lesson and answer the questions.
1.Did the U.S. basketball team defeat all the other teams and win the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics? What else do you know?
2.Is the diving team China’s only dream team?
3.What does a dream team have?
At last, the teacher explain the text in Chinese. Make sure the Ss can understand the meaning of text.
