本节课是一篇阅读文章。以机场迎接客人为场景，讲述了来自几个不同国家的学生由于文化背景的差异，在初次见面时互相问候的方式迥然不同而造成的一些小误会，形象地表明了身势语与文化背景的密切关系，以及身势语在人们日常交际中的重要作用。这篇文章的写作方式颇有特色，可以让学生在阅读的过程中，很自然地以“你”自己的身份去观察、倾听在机场发生的一切。

1. In China and abrad ,peple smetimes cmmunicate withut speaking.
在中国和国外，人们有的时候并不通过说话来沟通。
cmmunicate vi. “交流，沟通”常用词组cmmunicate with sb. “与某人交流”
cmmunicatin n. “交流”
2. In China and sme ther cuntries, friends shake hands t greet each ther .
在中国和其他一些国家，朋友们通过握手来问候对方。
shake hands “握手”
We ften shake hands when we meet each ther. 当我们彼此相遇时经常握手。
greet v. “向……打招呼”“问候，迎接，欢迎”
He greeted her by saying“Gd mrning”! 他向她打招呼，说“早上好”。
3.When Italians wave gdbye, it may lk like “cme here！”t Americans.
当意大利人摆手再见时，对美国人来说可能看起来像“来这儿！”。
Italian n. “意大利人，意大利语” adj. “意大利人的，意大利语的”
Italy n. “意大利” He is an Italian. 他是个意大利人。wave vi. “要摆，起伏，回收，挥舞”
We waved at the taxi .我们冲出租车招了招手。
wave n. “波浪，波动；挥手”

Discuss the text with the class, ask the class t retell the main ideas f the text. Make sure the students knw the six main pints ,(the six questins intrducing each paragraph) ,discussed in the text,.First,ask each grup t talk feely, then ,chse ne r tw students t give a reprt in frnt f the class
