      40 years ag the idea f disabled peple ding sprt was never heard f. But when the yearly games fr the disabled were started at Stke Mandeville, England in 1948 by Sir Ludwig Guttmann, the situatin began t change.
      Sir Ludwig Guttmann, wh had been driven t England in 1939 frm Nazi Germany, had been asked by the British gvernment t set up an injuries center at Stke Mandeville Hspital near Lndn. His ideas abut treating injuries included sprt fr the disabled.
