This cmes frm a new study published in a magazine. Researchers frm Israel fund that

Lead writer Ynat Zwebner f a university, alng with her team, did eight different experiments (实验) in Israel and France. The different experiments were set up t answer tw main questins:

What’s mre, when the faces the students lked at came frm within their wn cuntry, they were able t best match the faces t the names. French students were better at matching nly French names and faces while Israeli students were better at matching nly Hebrew names and Israeli faces.
Researchers believe it is pssible that peple change their appearances withut paying attentin t it, t match their names. One study especially backed up this idea, shwing that a hairstyle, smething that can be changed by peple easily, was enugh t guide thers in crrectly guessing their names.
“Earlier research has shwn there are cultural steretypes (偏见) carried by names, including
hw smene shuld lk. Fr example, peple are mre likely t imagine a persn named Bb t have a runder face than a persn named Tim. We believe these steretypes can, ver time, influence peple’s facial appearances,” Zwebner said.
The results f the experiments may even make parents think twice when chsing a name fr their children.
“If a name can influence appearance, it can influence many ther things. This research pens an imprtant directin that may suggest hw parents shuld cnsider better the names fr their children,” said Zwebner, wh recently had a baby herself.

By studying rats, scientists can_____what’s ging n in the brain during laughter. Nrthwestern University bimedical engineering prfessr, Jeffrey Burgdrf has fund that laughter in rats prduces a chemical that acts as an antidepressant(抗抑郁药). He thinks the same thing prbably happens in humans, t. This wuld give dctrs a new chemical target t develp drugs that can fight depressin.
Even s, laughter itself has nt been prved t be the best medicine, experts said. Margaret Stuber, a prfessr at University f Califrnia, studied whether laugher helped patients. She fund that distractin(分心) and md imprvement helped, but she culd nt find a benefit f laughter alne.
“N study has shwn that laughter prduces a direct health benefit,” Prvine said, mainly because it’s hard t separate laughter frm just feeling gd. But he thinks it desn’t really matter: “Isn’t the fact that laughter feels gd when yu d it enugh?”

Smetimes ne living thing kills anther, ne eats and the ther is eaten. Each kind f life eats anther kind f life in rder t live, and tgether they frm a fd chain. Sme fd chains are simple, while thers are nt. But all fd chains begin with the sun, and all fd chains becme brken up if ne f them disappears.
All life needs sunlight t live n. But nly plants can use sunlight directly. Plants are “factries”. They make fd frm sunlight, water and things in the sil and air.
Plants feed all ther living things. Animals can nly use the sun’s energy after it has been changed int fd by plants. Sme animals feed directly n plants, thers eat smaller animals. Meat-eating animals are nly eating plants indirectly.
What abut human beings? We are members f many fd chains. We eat wheat, rice, vegetables, fruits and s n. We watched a display shw. It was exciting. We als eat meat and drink milk. But men ften break up the fd chain. They kill wild animals. They als make rivers, lakes and seas dirty. When these rivers, lakes and seas are plluted, the fish in them can nt be eaten.
