A new study suggests that attractiveness can actually prevent the recgnitin f faces, unless a pretty face has particularly distinctive features, such as Angelina Jlie’s.

Half f the faces were cnsidered t be mre attractive and the ther half as less attractive, but all f them were being thught f as similarly distinctive lking. The test subjects were shwn the faces fr just a few secnds t memrize them and were shwn them again during the test s that they culd decide if they recgnized them r nt.
The researchers were surprised by the result. “Until nw we assumed that it was generally easier t memrize faces which are being cnsidered as attractive, just because we prefer lking at beautiful faces,” Dr. Wiese said. But the study shwed that such a cnnectin cannt be easily prven. He assumes that remembering pretty faces is distrted by emtinal influences, which enhance the sense f recgnitin at a later time. The researchers’ idea is backed up by evidence frm EEG-recrdings (脑电图记录) they used during their experiment which shw the brains’ electric activity.
