Each year, thusands f turists crwd Kenya’s natinal parks t try t have a lk at the"big five"; elephants, rhincers, lepards, buffales and lins. The internatinal draw f these animals matters a lt because the natin’s ecnmy is tied t the prtectin f its wildlife. If Kenya’s wildlife disappears, s des its secnd-largest surce f incme.
Wildlife prtectin effrts in Kenya meant marking ff land exclusively(专门地)fr animals. But it als meant that the peple wh had riginally lived in the area were frced t leave their land and int smaller surrunding areas. Liane Alves, a prekindergarten teacher, recalled a student wh presented her with a drawing featuring a single straight line acrss the page. Alves assumed the child hadn’t given t much thught t the drawing until he explained that the line was ne f the stems (茎) frm The Princess and the Pea, ne f the fairy tales they read in class.
Maureen Ingram, wh’s a preschl teacher at the same schl, said her students ften tell different stries abut a given piece f art depending n the day, perhaps because they weren’t sure what they intended t draw when they started the picture. “We as adults will ften say, ’I’m ging t draw a hrse, ’and we set ut. . . and get frustrated when we can’t d it, ”Ingram said. “Children seem t take a different apprach, where they just draw, and then they realize, ’it is a hrse. ’”
And what abut thse dd r scary-lking drawings? Des that mean kids are telling themselves stries that are dd r scary? It’s hard t say, but it’s rarely a gd idea t ver-interpret it. Ellen Winner, a psychlgy prfessr, pinted t parents wh wrry when their kid draws a child bigger than the adults. While the plice already lk at DNA frm hair as part f investigatins, the technique is far frm ideal: DNA is easily degradable, meaning it can nly be analyzed within a certain time perid after the crime. But the new technique culd even be used t slve histrical r archaelgical cases, making it far superir t DNA sequencing in many ways.
DNA degradatin depends n several envirnmental factrs including temperature, humidity and PH. It is als affected by the activity f bacteria and ther micrrganisms. In cntrast, actual hairs can survive fr a lng time-----smetimes centuries. After bnes and teeth, hair is in fact ne f the mst resistant structures f the human bdy.
In rder t understand hw the prtein can be used t identify individuals, it is imprtant t understand mat prteins are cded by DNA.This means that a certain level f the genetic variatin that we see in different peple's DNA passes int their prteins. In fact, genetic infrmatin in the DNA is translated int amin-acid chains that make up prteins.
The methd nt nly allws fr human identificatin but it can als reveal hw ld the sample is and what regin it cmes frm, s that we can distinguish between current and ancient samples. But while the discvery is exciting, the technique is nt quite plished enugh t be used in the curt rm. 1、What's the main idea f the passage?

      B.Criminals n the run get hair-raising news.
C.Scientists are planning a test f human hair.

      B.Pssessing genetic infrmatin.
      C.Inferring the height f a persn.
      D.Distinguishing the regin f a persn.
