The city wanted t lk back at its transprt develpment and make new plans fr the future. It has finished the “14th Five-Year Plan” (2021-2025) and will start the “15th Five-Year Plan” (2026-2030).
      Achievements in 2025 and the past five years
      In 2025, Nantng grew fast in many ways. Big bridge and tunnel prjects acrss the Yangtze River went well. Wrkers finished the main twer f the Zhangjingga Bridge. The Haitai Tunnel was abut ne-third dne, and the Chngqi Bridge was cmpleted. High-speed railways were built faster. A new railway statin in Qidng was pened t the public. Water transprt gt much better. Transprt by train and ship went up by 10%, and river transprt rse by nearly 25%. Nantng Prt wrked clsely with Shanghai’s Yangshan Prt.
      In the past five years, Nantng has spent 121 billin yuan n transprt, 1.6 times mre than befre. Nw Nantng has becme an imprtant natinal transprt center.
      The hpe fr the 15th Five-Year Plan
      By 2030, Nantng plans t build a mdern transprt system. It will spend 160 billin yuan. There will be 6 ways t crss the Yangtze River (bridges r tunnels). Mre than 210 km f high-speed railways and 630 km f highways will be built. Over 220 km f waterways will be made better fr big ships. The airprt will serve 8 millin passengers every year. And 75% f trips inside the city will be green, such as taking buses, riding bikes r walking.
      What t expect in 2026
      In 2026, Nantng will start 49 prjects and spend 22.4 billin yuan. It will begin the Secnd Sutng Bridge and finish the Chngqi Railway Bridge. The tw are bth imprtant crss-river prjects this year. Nantng will try t make a railway lnger t Rudng. New parts f the canal (运河) will be finished, and new prt areas will be built. Bus services will be made better. The city will try drne delivery (无人机配送), and small cmmunity rads will be repaired.
