I wasn’t sure if I was ready t accept the full meaning f it: that my father may never be that pwerful and capable persn again.

At ne pint in June last year, Zeng Jiapeng was mre than 10,000 yuan in debt t a smart phne app. The 23-year-ld Shanghai citizen pays fr almst everything with Huabei, a virtual credit card that's part f Alibaba's spreading stable f e-cmmerce. His spending ften used t g beynd his nly surce f incme: the 8,000-yuan mnthly allwance frm his parents. He tried t repay the debt in installments(分期), even brrwing frm Jiebei, anther Alibaba-wned credit service, but eventually his mther and father had t help him ut.
Zeng's stry is typical f members f China's Generatin Z. These yung cnsumers, brn frm the mid-1990s t the early 2000s, have little incme. Yet they have easy access t credit frm the banks, financial-tech cmpanies, and peer-t-peer (P2P) Lenders(网络借贷平台), plus ther channels that are unregulated.
The spending habits f the yung in particular are causing cncern. In sme cases, the yunger generatin is being tempted t ver cnsume via credit. Unsecured cnsumer lending has expanded 20% a year in China since 2008. Official data shwed that almst 70% f China's 50 millin P2P brrwers were yunger than 40. This is indeed wrrying, as there culd be cnsequences fr the brader ecnmy if the debt piles up. Frm 1990 t 2000, fishermen seeking swrdfish ff the cast f Califrnia accidentally caught and killed ver 100 sea turtles, and injured many mre. In 2001, the federal gvernment established the Pacific Leatherback Cnservatin Area (PLCA), a regin ff the cast f Califrnia where fishing bats aren’t allwed t enter frm August thrugh Nvember. Since then, the number f turtles killed by mistake has fallen rapidly, but a handful f animals still die frm being caught in fishing nets each year. And meanwhile, the nce $15 millin swrdfish industry has becme a $2 millin industry.

Larry Crwder, a prfessr at Hpkins Marine Statin, remembers reading it and thinking, “Cl idea, but it will never wrk.” In 2000, scientists didn’t have the cmputer pwer t cheaply test statistical mdels r deal with satellite data quickly. They didn’t have enugh data dealing with fish r satellite data n cean cnditins, either.
Nw scientists can dwnlad ceans f satellite data in minutes, and attach satellite archival tags (档案标签) t marine (海洋的) animals t track their mvements. They first cllect data by marking the creatures, cllecting reprts frm fishing bats, r ther tracking methds. Then they cmpare that data with weather cnditins, the time f year, and any ther data that can be sensed. Finally, they can frecast where fish are likely t be.
Crwder and his clleagues used the data t develp a tl called EcCast, which shws fishermen a daily map where there are mre fish they desire. Accrding t statistical mdeling, if fishers had used EcCast during the 2012 and 2015 fishing seasns, they culd have fished in at least 125,000 mre square miles than were pen t them, withut significant risk f hurting turtles.

12.The federal gvernment hpes the PLCA and its rules can_________.
      A.prevent fishing in the PLCA
B.help cllect data fr future researches
C.prtect the creatures in the area t sme degree
D.make the public realize the imprtance f ur envirnment
13.What did Larry Crwder think f dynamic cean management at first?
      A.It was unrealistic.
      B.It was stupid.
      C.It was pssible.
      D.It was interesting.
14.What des Paragraph 4 mainly tell us?
A.An effective way t cllect data.
B.Sme fruits in the related technlgy.
C.A scientific methd t find specific species.
D.The way dynamic cean management wrks.
15.What shuld be the advantage f using EcCast?
A.It prtects the marine envirnment frm pllutin.
B.It reduces the risk f natinal ecnmical lss.
C.It prevents fishermen frm getting lst while fishing.
D.It bth prtects cean animals and supprts fishery.

根据划线词后文“I deliberately set the credit limit at a lwer level,” he says,“s that hpefully I can better match my incme with spending.”
This is indeed wrrying, as there culd be cnsequences fr the brader ecnmy if the debt piles up. In ther wrds, if repayments take up t much incme, there will be little left fr new purchases, and perids f debt-fueled cnsumptin "can ften be fllwed by strict market crrectins. 故选A。
Zeng's stry is typical f members f China' Generatin Z. These yung cnsumers, brn frm themid-1990s t the early 2000s, have little incme. Yet they have easy access t credit frm the banks, financial-tech cmpanies, and peer-t-peer (P2P) Lenders(网络借贷平台), plus ther channels that are unregulated.

Since then, the number f turtles killed by mistake has fallen rapidly, but a handful f animals still die frm being caught in fishing nets each year.
Cl idea, but it will never wrk. 故选A。
