A Malawian wman, Glria Majiga-Kamt, was recently awarded the Gldman
Envirnmental Prize fr Africa — the wrld’s leading award fr grassrts envirnmental activists.

prgram that gave gats t rural farmers, wh wuld use the gat waste t prduce lw-cst,
high-quality rganic fertilizer (肥料). The prblem? The thin plastic bags cvering the Malawian cuntryside. “We have this very cmmn street fd, chiwaya, which is salty and served in little blue plastics,” Majiga-Kamt says. “Gats eat the plastic fr salty taste and they die because it

sudden, she started nticing hw plastics were everywhere in the Malawian envirnment and fd system-affecting peple’s living and health.
