Technlgical prgress smetimes shcks me. At the end f last year, a cmpany called OpenAI made a new AI technlgy public. It feels equivalent t ging straight frm the Wright Brthers t a Being 747. And I truly think it is ging t change the wrld.
The technlgy is called ChatGPT and what exactly is it? ChatGPT is a cmputer prgram that can understand and respnd t human language. It is trained n a lt f text, s it can understand what peple are saying and respnd in a way that sunds like a real persn.
What’s amazing is that it seems t have the ability t understand questins and answer them quickly and clearly. “Write a stry abut Bris Jhnsn in the style f Rald Dahl,” yu can ask it, and it’ll make up a pretty gd children’s stry. One area where I’ve fund it greatly useful is that it can write cmputer cde. This particularly amazed me as it has t be accurate and carefully structured.
It isn't, hwever, cmpletely human-like. Fr example, it smetimes prduces things that sund true, but are just nnsense. And it can’t d maths—I asked it what is the square rt f 717,409 and it tld me the answer is “apprximately 838.8” (the answer is actually 847).
In bth cases, this is because f the way the AI learns thrugh pattern recgnitin. There’s n real intelligence there—it is just regurgitating (照搬) smething based n what it has “read” befre. S it is better at sme tasks than thers—it can write a brilliant, sincere-sunding message, but its ability t rhyme (押韵) leaves a lt t be desired.
Anyway, I’m pretty sure that ChatGPT is ging t change the wrld. Our cmputer will n lnger be just ur wrd prcessr, but ur writing partner t. S nw I’m just hping that my editr desn’t decide it culd write a pretty gd technlgy article withut me.
      7. What des the authr want t shw with the underlined sentence in paragraph 1?
      A. The imprtance f technlgical prgress.
      B. The cnvenience f mdern transprtatin.
      C. The amazing develpment f AI technlgy.
      D. The rapid develpment f airplane industry.
      8. Why des the authr say ChatGPT isn’t cmpletely human-like?
      A. Because it can’t d maths crrectly.
      B. Because it will make nnsense.
      C. Because it can’t understand humans.
      D. Because it has n real intelligence.
      9. What can ChatGPT d accrding t the text?
      A. Write a rhymed pem.
      B. Create a stry in its wn style.
      C. Help yu d yur maths hmewrk.
      D. Write a stry similar t a famus writer’s.
      10. What can we infer abut the authr frm the text?
      A. He’s a chief editr.
      B. He’s a science researchers.
      C. He’s a magazine writer.
      D. He’s a cmputer prgrammer.
