When do you usually get up in the morning? What is your favorite part of your morning routine (常规)? For years, I would get myself out of bed in the dark first. Then I would get ready and travel a long way to work. 26 The best part of those mornings was catching the sunrise almost every day.
Now I can rise whenever I want, but I still love those early hours. Lately, I’ve been lucky enough to watch the light slowly cover the Blue Ridge Mountains. One of my favorite moments is seeing the hummingbirds (蜂鸟) visit the feeder. 27
Research shows that morning people are more likely to make the most of their time and have better mental (心理的) health. But night owls (夜猫子) might be more creative. 28
Even though I set an alarm, I usually wake up before it goes off. Even if it's still dark outside, I will keep the curtains (窗帘) open to catch the first morning light. 29
According to Baylor researcher Michael Scullin, healthy daytime activities can improve your sleep and your daily routine. When our daytime life is better, we can often get to bed and fall asleep earlier. 30 I believe those are great habits to develop at any age.

China has 3.7 million square miles of land to explore. But more and more young Chinese travelers prefer to see their country from the sky. The newest of these is called Tianti (“Sky Ladder” in Chinese). It is 551 feet long (168 meters) and crosses two cliffs at a height of 5,000 feet. The attraction is located on Mount Tianmen in Zhangjiajie Nature Park, in southwestern China’s Hunan province.
“The feet in this video are mine, and that kid is my son,” said He Qian, whose Tianti climbing video went viral (走红) on Douyin. And her videos have attracted tens of thousands of likes and shares. In He Qian’s video, she showed her feet on the ladder and then slowly turned to her nine-year-old son. He Qian sat on the ladder calmly. “I was not nervous, my son was,” she said, “but he was all right soon later.” He Qian runs a hotel nearby, where she also helps people book tickets for the new attraction. “Those who like to challenge themselves like doing this,” she added. “I’ve helped plenty of people get their tickets.”
Yuan Xiaorui, the manager of the company that operates the attraction on Mount Tianmen, told CNN that the three-hour experience costs 580 yuan ($80). “The coaches will stay with the visitors all the time,” Yuan said. “The visitors are also equipped with helmets (头盔), safety belts, and hiking backpacks.” Yuan added that the whole area is regularly checked and any problems found would be solved in time.
The number of people participating in outdoor sports in China is more than 400 million in August, 2024, according to CCTV. In the future, they will start serving ice cream, drinks and salads at more restaurants. Tian Yan, from the company, says this will help get food to people faster.

The dragon dance is an important part of Chinese culture. It has a long history and carries rich meanings, showing our love for traditions.
In the past, dragons for the dance were made of wood, bamboo and special cloth. They were quite heavy, which made the dance a real challenge. But now, lighter materials like silk and thin plastic are used, so the dragons are much easier to control. Dragons can be of different lengths (长度). Short ones, usually around 20 meters, work well for small shows in narrow (狭窄的) streets. Long dragons, however, can reach up to 70 meters! During big festivals, people try their best to dance with these long dragons. It’s said that the longer the dragon is, the more luck it will bring to the village or city.
The dragon dance needs great teamwork. A group of people—from 8 to 20 or more—must move together. Some hold the dragon’s head, others control the body, and a few guide the tail. They need energy to lift and wave the dragon, and skills to make it “fly” and “jump” like a real dragon. During festivals, the dragon dance brings joy to the streets. The loud drums, the bright dragon, and the cheering crowd create a lively scene. It reminds us of our culture’s beauty and the power of working together.
In short, the dragon dance is more than a performance. It connects us to our history, shows teamwork and hopes for a lucky future. It makes our cultural roots (根) strong and fills our lives with energy.
41.What do we know about long dragons?
A.They can be 70 meters long.
B.They are only used in small festivals.
C.They are easier to make than short ones.
D.They need fewer people to dance with them.
42.What are modern dragons mainly made of?
A.Wood and bamboo. B.Special cloth and wood.

A.To teach people how to make a dragon.
B.To compare long dragons and short dragons.
C.To tell a story about a dragon dance performance.

45.What would be the best structure of the passage?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a history of over 2,000 years. It is an important part of Chinese culture. Unlike Western medicine, TCM focuses on balancing the body’s energy to keep healthy.
Herbs (草药) are the main part of TCM. Doctors use different herbs to make medicine for different illnesses—some are taken as tea, while others are made into pills or powders. For example, ginseng (人参) is used to improve energy, and chrysanthemum (菊花) is good for the eyes. TCM also includes other treatments, such as acupuncture (针灸) and massage (按摩). Acupuncture uses thin needles (针) to stimulate certain points on the body, which can relieve pain or reduce stress, while massage helps to relax muscles and improve blood flow.
Nowadays, TCM is becoming more popular around the world. Many people choose TCM because it has fewer side effects. In some countries, TCM hospitals and clinics are set up to help people stay healthy. More doctors are combining TCM with Western medicine for better treatment results. TCM can not only treat illnesses but also teach people how to live a healthy life.
