Reading a gd bk is really a great jurney. When a reader gets int a well-written bk, it’s just like ging int a new wrld and living smene else’s life fr sme time. This experience becmes even mre wnderful when it’s dne by buddy reading. That means tw r mre peple read tgether.
During buddy reading, the buddies d lts f different reading activities. They may take turns t read ut lud, share their favrite parts, r talk abut the characters and the stry. Fr example, they can stp at an exciting part f the stry and argue abut what will happen next. This nt nly makes reading mre fun but als helps them understand the bk better.
Althugh having students f the same age d buddy reading is a gd chice, schls ften like t match lder students with yunger nes. In 2021, Green Schl started such a prgram, and it has been very successful. In this tw-year prgram, bth the yunger and lder readers have gt a lt f benefits. They have learned t be kind and patient when listening t each ther. A yunger student may be a little shy at first when reading ut lud, and the lder buddy has t wait patiently fr him t finish. Als, this prgram gives chances t practice imprtant life-lng skills. Take leadership fr example. Older students can lead the talk abut the bk, helping the yunger nes t think carefully.
