A baby duck gets bullied by the ther ducklings because they think he is ugly. Hwever, when he grws up, he realizes he is a swan.
The ruler f a cuntry lves clthes. One day, tw men trick him t buy “magic clthes that stupid peple cannt see”. Everyne arund him praises him fr his clthes, and n ne wants t tell the ruler that he’s been tricked. In the end, a child pints ut that the ruler isn’t wearing any clthes.
It is New Year’s Eve. A pr little girl is trying sell matches n the street. Sadly, n ne wants t buy them. It is very cld, but she is afraid that her father will beat her, s she desn’t want t g hme. T stay warm, she lights the matches ne by ne and thinks abut her grandmther. When the last match is gne, the girl dies.

The fir treeDeep in the frest grew a pretty little fir tree. The frest was a perfect hme fr many plants and animals, but the little fir tree was nt happy. It wanted t be tall like the ther trees. The sun shne, and the tree’s leaves fluttered in the sft air. Sme children played and laughed as they passed by. A child said, “What a pretty little tree!” But the fir tree remained unhappy. The tree grew a little bit each year, but even this didn’t make it happy. “Oh! Why can’t I just be tall like all the ther trees?” it cried. The tree was s unhappy—it tk n pleasure in the warm sunshine, the birds, r the rsy cluds that flated ver it mrning and evening. Years passed, and finally the tree grew very tall. Still, it cmplained, “Oh, I must keep grwing tall and ld! Nthing else matters in the wrld!” The sunshine was tired f hearing the fir tree’s cries. “Dn’t wish away yur yuth,” it said. “Enjy yur bright life in the fresh air—it is wrth mre than yu think!” But the fir tree didn’t listen. One winter, a few days befre Christmas, a wdcutter came and cut the unhappy fir tree dwn. Tw men carried it int a beautiful rm. On Christmas Eve, the peple in the huse decrated the fir tree with clurful paper, stars and candles. “Hw beautiful the tree is!” everyne cheered. The fir tree was happy nw. “What will happen next?” it thught. The next mrning, sme peple carried the fir tree ut f the rm and threw it int a dark crner f the attic. Many days and nights went by, but n ne came. “Oh n,” thught the tree, “this place is dark and lnely. I wish I were in the frest with the sunshine n my leaves and the birds singing arund me. The frest was the perfect hme fr me. I didn’t realize hw happy I was at the time!”
