Step 1 Warming up
1. Greetings
Teachers and students greet each ther t create a relaxed classrm atmsphere.
2. Free talk
The teacher displays sme pictures abut hbbies, such as reading, drawing, swimming, etc., and engages in free dialgue with the students.
T: What d yu like ding in yur free time?
S1: I like reading bks.
T: Des yur friend like reading bks, t?
S1: N, he/she desn't. He/She likes playing sprts.
Step 2 Presentatin
1. Present affirmative sentences in the present tense
The teacher wrte a few sentences n the blackbard, such as: I play ftball every day. He likes music. They study hard
Guide students t bserve the sentence, identify the subject and verb, and ask: What d yu ntify abut the verbs in these sentences?
Students may find that when the subject is in the first persn and plural, the verb is in its riginal frm; When the subject is in the third persn singular, the verb shuld be added with "s" r "es".
The teacher summarizes the structure f affirmative sentences in the present tense: subject+verb frm/third persn singular frm f verb+ther.
2. Present a negative sentence in the present tense
The teacher changed the affirmative sentence t a negative sentence, such as: I dn't play ftball every day. He desn't like music. They dn't study hard
Let students bserve the cmpsitin f negative sentences and guide them t summarize: subject+dn't/dn't '+verb frm+thers.
Emphasize that when the subject is in the third persn singular, use 'dn't', and fr thers, use 'dn't'.
3. Present a general present tense questin sentence
D yu play ftball every day? Des he like music? D they study hard?
Guide students t summarize the cmpsitin f interrgative sentences: D/Days+Subject+Verb Prttype+Other?
Encurage students t pay attentin t the use f auxiliary verbs' d 'and' des', and chse accrding t the different subjects.
Step 3 Practice
1. Fill in the blank exercise
The teacher prvides sme sentences and asks students t fill in the blanks with apprpriate frms f the given verbs.
Fr example: She ____ (read) bks every night
My parents ____ (nt watch) TV in the evening.
____ (d) he like sprts?
2. Sentence making exercises
Ask students t make sentences in the present tense based n the given subject and prmpt.
Fr example: my sister, dance
Student: My sister likes dancing
3. Grup Dialgue
Students are gruped and engaged in dialgue exercises, using the present tense t discuss their wn and thers' hbbies.
A: What d yu d at weekends?
B: I ften play basketball. What abut yu?
A: I like reading. Des yur friend like reading?
B: N, he desn't. He likes swimming.
Step 4 Prductin
1. Scenari creatin
Teachers create a scenari fr recruiting schl clubs, allwing students t chse clubs based n their interests and fill ut applicatin frms.
The applicatin frm includes persnal infrmatin, hbbies, and a general present tense descriptin f the reasns fr jining the club.
2. Display and Cmmunicatin
Invite sme students t shwcase their cmpleted applicatin frms and intrduce their hbbies and reasns fr chsing clubs t the whle class.
Other students listen carefully and evaluate and ask questins abut the presented cntent.
Step 5 Summary
1. Guide students t review the cmpsitin, usage, and variatins f the present tense in different sentence structures.
2. Emphasize the imprtance f the present tense in daily life and encurage students t use it crrectly in future learning and cmmunicatin.
