Be able t use skimming and intensive reading techniques t quickly grasp the main idea and detailed infrmatin f an article.
Be able t imitate the structure and language f the text, and briefly intrduce neself and thers' hbbies in English.

Guide students t recgnize the imprtance f hbbies and cultivate a psitive attitude twards life.
Encurage students t develp diverse hbbies and enrich their extracurricular life.

Step 1 Imprt
1. Play a vide abut different peple shwcasing their hbbies, such as dancing, painting, singing, sprts, etc.
2. Ask the students, "What can yu see in the vide?" Guide the students t answer, "I can see peple ding different Hbbies
3. Cntinue asking: "D yu have any hbbies? What are they?" Invite several students t share their hbbies.
Step 2 Vcabulary Learning
1. Shw the key vcabulary in the text, such as hbby, vlleyball, swing, enjy, be gd at, etc., and help students understand their meanings thrugh pictures, actins, example sentences, and ther methds.
2. Organize students t practice vcabulary, such as spelling, English Chinese translatin, wrd cllcatin, etc., t cnslidate the learned vcabulary.
Step 3 Befre reading
1. Display the title and picture f the text, and guide students t predict the cntent f the text: "Lk at the title and the picture. What d yu think the text is abut
2. Prvide sme guiding questins, such as: "Wh might the peple in the picture be? What hbbies d yu think they have
Step 4 Skimming
1. Require students t quickly skim thrugh the text and answer the fllwing questins:
• Hw many peple are mentined in the text?
• What are their names?
2. Check students' answers t understand their initial understanding f the text.
Step 5 Intensive reading
1. Read the text in sectins, guide students t carefully read each paragraph, and answer relevant questins:
• Paragraph 1: What is Millie's hbby?
• Paragraph 2: What is Simn's hbby? Is he gd at it?
• Paragraph 3: What des Sandy like? What des she lk like?
2. Organize students t have grup discussins, exchange answers, and have teachers inspect and prvide guidance.
3. Invite grup representatives t answer questins, and teachers t prvide cmments and supplements.

Grup discussin: What d yu think f their hbbies?
Representatives f each grup speak up.
Step 7 Summary and hmewrk assignment (3 minutes)
Review the key cntent f this lessn with students, including vcabulary, sentence patterns, reading skills, etc.
Step 8 Hmewrk:
Recite the text.
Cmplete the exercises related t this lessn in the wrkbk.
Interview family r friends in English abut their hbbies and recrd them.
