We tk Denali Star frm Anchrage and back. The seats were cmfrtable with plenty f legrm. We enjyed using the utdr platfrm t spt wildlife. The taste f fd was very plain. There needed t be a few mre ptins fr the dinner service. The bread pudding n the breakfast menu was the best thing served.

In the Pacific Nrthwest during winter, 5:15 a.m. might be the dead f night. The alarm ges ff and the nly light is the red glw frm my clck. My bdy says, “G back t bed.” But I dn’t. If yu’d have asked me a year ag if I culd see myself running at 5:15 n a winter mrning, I’d have laughed. Mrning just wasn’t my thing and running in the mrning was smething I didn’t even cnsider. “I prefer t wrk ut in the middle f the mrning r in the afternn,” I’d say t my friends wh g t the gym befre wrk.
Then, last fall I recnnected with an ld friend. She’d been running in the mrning and taken ff frty punds. When I lked in the mirrr, I knew I culd benefit frm the same kind f weight lss. I asked if I culd jin her. I knew I needed t change smething if I was ging t get back in shape.
The first tw mnths were especially hard, because we ran twice a week at 5:15 a.m. and I slept till 7:00 the ther mrnings. But as I’ve adjusted t the rutine f running, I’ve discvered great jys that make it even mre wrthwhile than a little weight lss.
While I haven’t lst frty punds yet, it’s amazing hw much mre energy I have and hw much strnger I feel. Because f the mrning run, the rest f my day is mre prductive. I wuldn’t say I’ve becme a mrning persn, but I wuld say mrning running is nw my thing.
