      Even at 80, Mei Jingtian still patrls (巡逻) the Shixiaguan part f the Great Wall. With ver 40 years f
      experience, he taps the vergrwn grund with a wden stick, warning wild animals fr safety.
      He lives in Shixia village near the 8.6-kilmeter part. Shixia villagers have a deep lve fr the wall. Mei
      remembers when he ran and played hide-and-seek with his friends n the large building as a child. Hwever in
