The Yukn Quest is a 1,000-mile dg sled (雪橇) race held every February in Canada. It’s knwn as the wrld’s mst difficult sled dg race. Teams f sled dgs and their mushers travel alng parts f the Yukn River and 1 fur muntains tgether. In the race, they may 2 challenges like freezing temperatures, strng winds, and dangerus wildlife.
A sled dg team includes a musher and up t 14 dgs. The musher usually uses vice cmmands and bdy language t 3 the dg team.
The lead dgs are at the frnt. They guide the team and cntrl the speed. Behind the leaders are the swing dgs. They make sure the team make turns safely. Wheel dgs must stay 4 because they run very clse t the mving sled. Team dgs are the strngest. They are the main surce f the pulling pwer.
The sled dgs’ health and safety are very imprtant during races. Befre the race, vets examine all the dgs t make sure they are 5 . During the race, vets als check if the dgs are hurt r t tired at the checkpints.
