(P7) 我同意。而且他们能够帮助你成为一个更好的人。better是good的比较级,作定语修饰名词person。person n.人,个人; 泛指man,woman或child中的任何一个。如:Who is that person?那个人是谁呢?注意:a young person的意思是“一个年轻妇女”,多半指轻佻的女人。“一个年轻男人”则说a young man。拓展:human、man和people的区别human强调“人群”。 也写作human being,意为“人、人类”,特别用来指有别于动物及鬼神等的“人”,其复数为humans(human beings)。如:Dogs can hear much better than humans. 狗的听觉比人灵敏得多。man指各时代的全体人类,特指男人。意为“男人”,与woman相对,复数用men。指“人,人类”用作单数,不加冠词。如:Men and women are equal.男女平等。Man will conquer nature.人定胜天。people指人;人类;民族;公民。 = 1 \* GB3 ①意为“人、人们”,只能表示复数含义,不能表单数。如:People don't like to be told that they are wrong.人们都不喜欢别人说自己是不对的。②加定冠词the时,指“人民,平民,百姓,大众”。如:The American government is no longer in touch with the people. 美国政府已脱离了民众。 = 3 \* GB3 ③表示“民族、种族”时,有单数也有复数形式。如:The Chinese are a hardworking people中华民族是一个勤劳的民族。The peoples of Asia should unite. 亚洲各民族应该团结起来。8.Thank you for sharing your thoughts, class. (P7)感谢大家分享自己的想法,同学们。thought n.想法,主意 thoughtful adj.体贴的;深思熟虑的;拓展:thought/ thinking /ideathought是think的过去式、过去分词,thinking是think的现在分词或动名词。thought/thinking作为名词时都可以表示“思想、想法”的意思,区别在于:thought一般指经过思考推理已经形成体系的思想理论; thinking一般是单独的、散乱的、个别的思想、思考。就是说thought的表达高度比thinking高。idea为一般用语,指的通过理解,思维,推理,幻想等头脑中产生的思想、想法、意见等。如:He is a thinking man.他是个好思考的人。I'd like to hear your thoughts on the subject 我想听听你对这个问题的看法。 It's important to express your ideas clearly 清楚地表达你的想法是很重要的事。Reading---My best friend (P8-11)1.Betty, my best friend, is a slim girl with big bright eyes. (P8) 贝蒂,我最好的朋友,是个身材苗条、有着大而明亮眼睛的女孩。my best friend同位语,修饰说明Betty;最高级best前面有形容词性的物主代词my不能加the.2.Her hair is longer than mine, and she usually wears her hair in a ponytail. (P8)她的头发比我长,而且她通常会把头发扎成一个马尾辫。longer是long的比较级,表示“更长”;通常情况下,我们用“比较级+than”来引出比较的第二部分。比较的内容必须一致,即要么人,要么物,所以than后用名词性物主代词mine。同义句:Her hair is longer than mine.=My hair is shorter than hers.ponytail n.马尾辫 pony(小型马)+ tail(尾;尾巴;) →ponytail 3.Kind and helpful, Betty is ready to help anyone any time. Peter 对于体重增加的恐惧使他没有吃下第三块蛋糕。People in China fear the number four.中国人害怕“四”这个数字。[注]在口语中,afraid和fear可以表示担心或怀疑的意思,作为一种客套用语。如:I'm afraid we shall be late.恐怕我们会迟到。// I fear it’s not so.恐怕不是这样。2.But there wasn't another tree nearby for the other friend.
