      Read the stry adapted frm Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling. Discuss the questin with a partner.

      A mther duck had six little ducklings. The last ne was big and grey.
      The ther ducklings called him “ugly” and tld him t g away. Feeling sad, he decided t search fr a new hme.
      He met ther animals, but they all thught he was ugly t and didn’t want him.
      The ugly duckling felt s sad he wanted t cry. But then he saw beautiful swans by a lake.
      He lked in the water and realized he was a beautiful white swan.

      The fisherman was very afraid, but he thught quickly. The genie was big and angry, but maybe nt smart. Seeing a strm cming, the fisherman praised the genie, saying, “Ww, yu are s big and strng. Can yu change yur size?” The prud genie happily said, “Of curse! I am the strngest in the wrld!” The fisherman asked. “Hw big can yu get?” The genie gt bigger and bigger until he was as big as a muntain. Hwever, he didn't ntice the strng strm cming. The strm blew the genie away. The fisherman hid in his hut and watched. “He might be big and strng”, the fisherman said, “but he is t prud!”
