故填 with。

publicatin. A writer herself fr ne f the black newspapers, she suggested my name t the editr as a “yuth
      clumnist”.

      C
D we really knw ur best friends?
I like my clse friends a lt, and yet, n an almst daily basis, they shcked me. I have a friend wh thinks
vting is a waste f time; I have anther friend wh never takes any arrangement t meet at a given time and place
      seriusly.
It’s generally held that friends are peple with whm we chse t develp relatinships because we find
their persnalities agreeable, r similar t ur wn, and yet experience regularly cntradicts this. What is a friend,
really? All that ne can safely say is that a friend is smene ne likes and wishes t see again.
The truth is that we dn’t knw ur friends. Numerus studies shw that we tend t assume ur friends agree
with us mre than they really d. The striking part is that the prblem desn’t appear t lessen as a friendship
deepens. When the researchers Michael Gill and Bill Swann questined students sharing rms, they fund that, as
time passed, peple became even mre cnfident in the accuracy f their judgments abut the ther, and yet, in
reality, the judgments grew n mre accurate. Tw peple might becme dear friends, yet remain ignrant abut
vast areas f each ther’s inner lives.
This seems strange, until yu cnsider, that many f the benefits that friendship prvides dn’t necessarily
depend n perfect familiarity; they cme frm smething clser t reliability. Friendship may be less abut being
drawn t smene’s persnality than abut finding smene willing t keep yu cmpany, r lend an ear. A friend prvides the “scial-identity supprt” we desire. Yu needn’t be a clse match with smene, nr deeply familiar
with their mind. And nce a friendship has begun, yu want t like it, if nly t cnfirm that yu made the right
      9 / 20
decisin. We dn’t want t knw everything abut ur friends. We dn’t base friendships n what we learn abut
peple; we decide what t learn abut peple, and what t ignre, based n having decided t be friends.
Perhaps there’s smething mving abut viewing friendship as an agreement t keep each ther cmpany,
ignre each ther’s faults and nt prbe (刨根问底) t deeply in ways that might weaken the friendship. Perhaps a
true friend is smene wh desn’t ask many awkward questins.
27.Why des the authr tell the stries f his tw friends in the first paragraph?
A.T prvide backgrund infrmatin. B.T intrduce the tpic f the passage.
C.T stress the imprtance f friendship. D.T shw the difference between friends.
      28.The underlined wrd “they” in Paragraph 4 refers t ______ .
      A.friendships B.strangers C.researchers D.benefits
29.It can be cncluded frm the passage that ______ .

B.real friends are peple yu like but dn’t wish t see ften
C.we d nt necessarily share persnalities with clse friends
D.the lnger we stay with friends, the mre accurately we judge them
30.Which statement abut friends will the authr prbably accept?
A.Stay friends but keep a distance.
B.It takes a lng time t grw an ld friend.
C.Real friends will tell yu when yur face is dirty.
D.True friends knw all abut yu and still like yu.

have a friend wh thinks vting is a waste f time; I have anther friend wh never takes any arrangement t meet
at a given time and place seriusly.(我非常喜欢我的好朋友,然而,他们几乎每天都让我震惊。

Perhaps there’s smething mving abut viewing friendship as an agreement t

In ur infrmatin-driven sciety, shaping ur wrldview thrugh the media is similar t frming an pinin
abut smene slely based n a picture f their ft. While the media might nt deliberately deceive us, it ften
fails t prvide a cmprehensive view f reality.
Cnsequently, the questin arises: Where, then, shall we get ur infrmatin frm if nt frm the media?
Wh can we trust? Hw abut experts—peple wh devte their wrking lives t understanding their chsen slice
f the wrld? Hwever, even experts can fall prey t the allure f versimplificatin, leading t the “single
perspective instinct” that hampers(阻碍)ur ability t grasp the intricacies f the wrld.
Simple ideas can be appealing because they ffer a sense f understanding and certainty. And it is easy t
take ff dwn a slippery slpe, frm ne attentin-grabbing simple idea t a feeling that this idea beautifully
explains, r is the beautiful slutin fr, lts f ther things. The wrld becmes simple that way.
Yet, when we embrace a singular cause r slutin fr all prblems, we risk versimplifying cmplex issues.
Fr instance, champining the cncept f equality may lead us t view all prblems thrugh the lens f inequality
and see resurce distributin as the sle panacea. Hwever, such rigidity prevents us frm seeing the
multidimensinal nature f challenges and hinders true cmprehensin f reality. This “single perspective instinct”
ultimately cluds ur judgment and restricts ur capacity t tackle cmplex issues effectively.
It saves a lt f time t think like this. Yu can have pinins and answers withut having t learn abut a

prblem frm scratch and yu can get n with using yur brain fr ther tasks. But it’s nt s useful if yu like t

infrmatin that desn’t fit yur perspective. This is usually a bad apprach if yu wuld like t understand reality.
Instead, cnstantly test yur favrite ideas fr weaknesses. Be humble abut the extent f yur expertise. Be

peple wh agree with yu, r cllecting examples that fit yur ideas, cnsult peple wh cntradict yu, disagree
with yu, and put frward different ideas as a great resurce fr understanding the wrld. I have been wrng abut
the wrld s many times. Smetimes, cming up against reality is what helps me see my mistakes, but ften it is
talking t, and trying t understand, smene with different ideas.
If this means yu dn’t have time t frm s many pinins, s what? Wuldn’t yu rather have few
pinins that are right than many that are wrng?
31.What des the underlined wrd “allure” in Para.2 prbably mean?
      A.Temptatin. B.Traditin. C.Cnvenience. D.Cnsequence.
32.Why are simple ideas appealing accrding t the passage?
A.They meet peple’s demand fr high efficiency.
      B.They generate a sense f cmplete understanding.
C.They are raised and supprted by multiple experts.
      D.They reflect the pinins f like-minded individuals.
33.What will the authr prbably agree with?
A.Simplifying matters releases energy fr human brains.
B.Cnstant tests n ur ideas help make up fr ur weakness.
C.A well-funded pinin cunts mre than many shallw nes.
D.Peple wh disagree with us ften have cmprehensive views.

Hwever, even experts can fall prey t the allure f versimplificatin, leading t
the “single perspective instinct” that hampers(阻碍)ur ability t grasp the intricacies f the wrld.
故选 A。
Simple ideas can be appealing because they ffer a sense f understanding and
      certainty.
Instead, cnstantly test yur favrite ideas fr weaknesses. Be humble abut
the extent f yur expertise. Be curius abut new infrmatin that desn’t fit, and infrmatin frm ther fields.

The Value f Failure in Success

In cnclusin, failure is nt the end but a crucial part f the path t success. It teaches us, builds ur

ur mistakes. This newly-fund knwledge becmes a valuable asset, guiding us t make better decisins and take
Self-reflectin after failure is imprtant because it enables us t identify
ur weaknesses and learn frm mistakes, which helps us make better decisins and take mre effective actins in
      the future.
Failure als builds resilience. Each time we face failure and manage t get
      back up, we becme strnger.(失败也能培养韧性。
Similarly, when we encunter failure in ur lives, whether it’s in sprts, academics, r persnal
relatinships, buncing back frm it gives us the mental tughness t handle future challenges.(同样,当我们在生
Failure cntributes t building resilience by making us strnger each time we face
it and manage t recver, and it gives us the mental tughness t deal with future challenges.
Mrever, failure can change ur perspective. It makes us mre
When we experience failure, we realize that we are nt invincible and that there is always
rm fr imprvement. This new perspective allws us t apprach tasks with a mre pen-minded and realistic
attitude. It als helps us appreciate success mre. After ging thrugh the hardships f failure, the taste f success
Failure changes ur
perspective by making us mre humble and less vercnfident, allwing us t apprach tasks with a mre
pen-minded and realistic attitude, and helping us appreciate success mre。 Failure changes ur
perspective by making us mre humble and mre vercnfident, helping us appreciate success mre.
Accrding t the passage, Failure changes ur perspective by making us mre humble and less vercnfident,
allwing us t apprach tasks with a mre pen-minded and realistic attitude, and helping us appreciate success
      mre.
T avid failure ,we can set clear gals t track prgress, and learn
frm past experiences t prevent repeating mistakes. Additinally, keeping imprving ur abilities can als handle
challenges effectively .These steps help build cnfidence, reduce setbacks and grw steady t success.
