The Pillw
At the age f sixteen, I jined a vlunteer grup with my dad. I went n my first vlunteer prject in West Virginia. On the night we arrived, we discvered that “ur family” was living in a trailer(拖车)that was in pr cnditin. A crew had been wrking n it fr tw weeks, but every time they finished ne prblem, anther surfaced.
We decided the nly reasnable slutin was t build a new huse—smething unusual but necessary under these circumstances. The family was verjyed at their new huse that was twenty feet by thirty feet with three bedrms a bath and a kitchen.
On Tuesday f that week, while we ate lunch tgether, I asked the family’s three bys, Jsh, Eric and Ryan, “What d yu want fr yur new rm?” Expecting tys and ther gadgets that children usually ask fr, we were surprised when Jsh respnded, “I just want a bed.”
The bys had never slept in a bed! They were accustmed t plastic mats. That night we had a meeting and decided that beds wuld be the perfect gifts. On Thursday night, a few adults in ur grup drve t the nearest city and bught beds and new bedding.
When we saw the delivery truck cming, we tld the family abut the surprise. We culd hardly cntain urselves. It was like watching excited children n Christmas mrning.

Then there are the as-yet-unknwn jbs that will be created by AI.

A middle schl in Unin Cunty, New Jersey is frcing its students t stay discnnected in class, by prhibiting cellphnes. Maxsn Middle Schl Principal Kevin Stansbury put frward the phne ban last week after he nticed sme majr issues in the schl. “Our test scres were dwn, and discipline was up,” he says.
