Fx said this suggested the lift in ppulatin was nt simply because lng grass prvided mre nectar (花蜜) frm wildflwers within it, but because butterflies were seeking r actually breeding (繁殖) in rewilded lawns.
Fx said: “What peple are ding with lng grass in gardens is creating ptential r actual breeding habitat. In rder t make an impact n the bi-diversity crisis we need t be creating places where butterflies and ther wildlife can breed.”

Yu’ve prbably heard smene lament (惋惜) the state f “kids tday” that current generatins aren’t as: smart as the nes that came befre them. Hwever, psychlgists wh study intelligence have fund that there isn’t much supprt fr this idea; instead, the ppsite may actually be true.
The Flynn effect, first described in the 1980s by researcher James Flynn, refers t the finding that scres n IQ tests have increased in the past century. Researchers studying this effect have fund wide supprt fr this phenmenn. One research paper, published by psychlgist Lisa Trahan and her clleagues, cmbined the results f ther published studies (which included a ttal f ver 14,000 participants) and fund that IQ scres have indeed increased since the 1950s, althugh researchers have dcumented sme exceptins.

In ther wrds, instead f being a measure f natural, unlearned intelligence, IQ may be smething that can be shaped by the educatin we receive and the sciety we live in.

C. By making dcuments f the exceptins.D. By relating t the results f ther studies.
13. Which f the fllwing reasns fr increasing IQ scres is WRONG?
A. Many f the public health issues are being addressed.
B. We d mre abstract types f prblem- slving nwadays.
C. Peple attach mre imprtance t intellectual develpment.
D The Industrial Revlutin changed peple’s habits f mind.
14. What’s the pssible meaning f the underlined wrd “innate” in paragraph 5?
A. Hard t explain.B. Exactly the same.C. Naturally brn.D. Likely t change.
15. What’s the main idea f this passage?
A. Scres n IQ tests have imprved ver time.
B. Mdem sciety gives peple mre pprtunities.
