【第一课时】
【教学目标】
1.呈现代表高矮胖瘦的典型人物形象,引出Look and learn中描述人物体型特征的四个形容词,帮助学生达成词汇学习的目标.
2.通过Listen and say的情景对话,帮助学生学习本单元的核心句型This is... (name)和He's/She's... (adj.)
【教学重难点】
1.词汇:tall, short, fat, thin, friend, he, is, my, she, this
2.句型:This is… (name) He's /She's… (adj.)
【教学过程】
Ⅰ.Pre-task preparations
1.播放Listen and enjoy的儿歌,让学生听并跟唱,活跃课堂气氛.
2.用多媒体或挂图呈现分别代表髙、矮、胖、瘦这四种体型的典型人物形象,让学生通过图片直观地感受tall, short, fat和thin这四个形容词的意思.
Ⅱ.While-task procedures
1.分别呈现Joe和Peter的图片,但是遮住人物的脸,让学生猜猜照片中的人是谁.通过这一活动引出一对反义词fat和thin,然后出示更多不同体型的人物图片,让学生说说谁瘦谁胖.
T: (show the picture of Joe) Who is this?
S1: Peter.
T: No, he is not Peter.
S2: Joe.
T: (show the full picture of Joe) Yes, this is Joe. Joe is fat.
T: (show the picture of Peter) Who is he? Is he Joe?
S1: No.
T: Who is he?
S2: Peter.
T: (show the full picture of Peter) Yes, this is Peter. Peter is not fat. He is thin.
(point to the thin pupils in the class) ... is thin.... is thin too.
T: (show more pictures of fat or thin people) Who is fat/thin?
S1: ... is fat.
S2: ... is thin.
2.邀请一高一矮两个学生背靠背站在前面,量一量他们的身高并将数字写在黑板上,通过介绍引出一对反义词tall和short.
T: (point to the tall pupil)... is tall.
(point to the short pupil)... is short.
Who is tall in our class?
S1: (point to a tall pupil)... is tall.
S2: (point to another tall pupil)... is tall too.
T: Who is short in our class?
S1: (point to a short pupil)... is short.
S2: (point to another short pupil)... is short too.
请两个女生或两个男生(一高一矮)上前来背靠背站着,让他们用I'm… She's/He's…句型说一说身高情况.
T: Tell me who is tall and who is short.
S1: I am tall, (point to S2) She is short.
S2: I am short, (point to S1) She is tall.
3.逐一呈现教材的主线人物(Peter, Kitty, Joe和 Alice),通过问答学习本单元的新句型This is... (如me)和He's/ She's…
T: (point to Peter) Look! Who is he? Is he Peter?
Ss: Yes.
T: Right. This is Peter. Follow me, class. This is Peter. He is thin.
Ss: This is Peter. He is thin.
T: Who is she?
Ss: Kitty.
T: Yes. This is Kitty. She is thin.
Ss: This is Kitty. She is thin.
播放Listen and say的动画或录音,让学生听并跟读.然后请几个学生表演对话.
4.教师先呈现挂图中几个人物的图片,用句型This is... He's /She's…描述他们的体型特征.然后让学生拿着各自朋友的照片两人一组互相介绍.
T: (point the picture of John) This is John. He's tall.
(point the picture of Linda) This is Linda. She's thin.
S1: (show the picture of a friend) This is… He's /She's...

Ⅲ.Post-task activities
1.教师先示范用一首儿歌操练Look and learn中任意一对反义词(tall/short或者fat/thin),然后让学生模仿创编儿歌.

Tall boy, short boy.
I see you.
Ss: Tall boy, short boy.

2.让胖痩或身高方面有明显差距的两个学生结对上来,两人轮流用I'm和He's/She's ...向班上其他同学作介绍.
