教材分析
1. Analysis of the Students
The students of Grade5 have mastered certain vocabularies, expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English as well as act the dialogue out.
2. Analysis of Teaching Content
Lesson 17 is the fifth lesson in Unit 3, Book 9.This unit focus on the subject Writing Home, Lesson 17 mainly talks about the email from Danny.

Improve the students’ ability of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Students can write the email to others.

教学过程
Step 1. Warm-up
- Greeting:
T: Hello,everyone. How are you?
Ss: Fine, thank you. And you?
T: I`m fine , thanks. Nice to see you again.
Ss: Glad to see you again.
T: What would you like?
Ss: ... ... .
- Sing the song.
Step 2. Presentation and practice
- Lead in:
Teacher show the picture of email, and say: Danny is writing an email to Steven.
- Learn the text.
(1) Read the text one time and tick or cross:
A. This is an email from Steven.( )
B. This email is to Jenny.( )
(2) Check the answer.
(3) Read again and answer the questions:
- Where is Danny?
- How’s the weather in Beijing?
- When is Danny going home?
(4) Check the answers.
(5) Read the third time. Choose the truth one.

(2) Read the words by students.

- Group work: read in groups.

Step 4. Summary
Choose a student to summarize the knowledge what we have learned.
