    1.直接引语为陈述句时,间接引语变为 that 引导的宾语从句。 2.直接引语为一般疑问句或附加疑问句时,间接引语变为 whether/if 引导的宾语从句。 3.直接引语为特殊疑问句时,间接引语变为 特殊疑问词 引导的宾语从句。 4.直接引语为选择疑问句时,间接引语变为  引导的宾语从句。 
    5.直接引语为祈使句时,间接引语变为 带t的动词不定式(短语) 。 6.直接引语是感叹句时,间接引语通常变为 what或hw 引导的宾语从句,也可变为that引导的宾语从句或其他灵活的句式。 7.直接引语变为间接引语时,语序要变成 陈述 语序。 
    8.直接引语变为间接引语时,从句的谓语动词在时态方面要做出相应的变化。9.直接引语变为间接引语时,人称代词、物主代词和名词性物主代词等要相应做出变化。10.直接引语变为间接引语时,指示代词、时间状语、地点状语及某些动词也要做出相应的变化。

    句法分析rather than意为“而不是……;不是……,而是……;与其说……,倒不如说……”。rather than常用于平行结构中,其前后的成分应该对等一致。rather than连接的并列成分可以是名词、代词、形容词、动词、动词-ing形式、动词不定式、介词(短语)、分句等。

    温馨提示1.prefer t d sth rather than d sth 喜欢做某事胜过做某事;宁愿做某事而不愿做某事 The by prefers t d husewrk rather than study. 这个男孩宁愿做家务而不愿学习。 2.wuld rather d sth than d sth 宁愿做某事而不做某事 I wuld rather stay at hme than g ut. 我宁愿待在家里,也不愿出去。

    2.【教材原文】I ften walk r ride a bike instead f taking a taxi.(page 29)我经常步行或骑自行车而不是乘出租车。句法分析instead f是介词,意为“代替;而不是”,后接名词、代词、动词-ing形式做宾语,表示被取代的内容。但有时为了保持前后对等,instead f后面也可接形容词、副词、动词、动词不定式或介词短语等。
    语境领悟(1)I will g there instead f Mr Wang.我将代替王老师去那里。(2)Will yu g t the party instead f me?你代我去赴宴,好吗?(3)I’ll d sme hmewrk instead f ging t the mvies.我要做作业,不去看电影了。(4)Things wuld be better instead f wrse.情况会变得更好而不是更糟。
    (5)He walks slwly instead f quickly.他走得很慢而不是很快。(6)His wrds made me respect instead f hate him.他的话使我敬重他,而不是讨厌他。(7)He plans t d sme wrk instead f t watch TV.他打算干点活而不看电视。(8)I’ll g there n ft instead f by bus.我将步行而不是坐汽车去那儿。
    温馨提示instead 是副词,意为“代替;而是;反而;却”,可位于句首或句末,位于句首时,还常用逗号与句子其他部分隔开。 He didn’t get angry with me.Instead,he said he liked my wrds very much. 他没生我的气,而是说很喜欢我说的话。 If Harry is nt well enugh t g with yu,take me instead. 如果亨利不舒服不能跟你去,带我去吧。
    学以致用句型转换(1)Tday we wn’t have rice fr supper;we’ll take ndles instead.→Tday we’ll have  ndles  fr supper instead f  rice . (2)She never studies.Instead,she plays tennis all days.→ Instead   f   studying ,she plays tennis all days. 
    单句语法填空(3)Taking exercise every day makes him lk yunger instead f  lder (ld). (4)I stayed at my uncle’s hme instead f  at  the htel. 
    完成句子(5)我经常给他提些建议而不是给他钱。I ften give him sme advice  instead  f  mney .(6)他提议读些书而不是玩游戏。He prpsed t read sme bks instead f  t   play   games . (7)天气暖和的时候,他常常在树下而不是在图书馆里读书。In warm weather he ften reads bks under a tree instead   f   in   the   library . 
    直接引语和间接引语一、直接引语变为间接引语时,不同种类的句子有着不同的变化方式。1.陈述句:变为连词that引导的宾语从句,that可以省略。He said,“I’m frm America.”→He said (that) he was frm America.
    2.一般疑问句:变为连词whether/if引导的宾语从句,said (t sb)可变为asked (sb) that结构。He said,“Are yu interested in English?”→He asked me whether/if I was interested in English.3.特殊疑问句:变为原来的特殊疑问词引导的宾语从句,可变为asked (sb) what/when/where等结构。“What d yu want?” he asked me.→He asked me what I wanted.
    4.附加疑问句:变为连词whether/if引导的宾语从句。“Yu have finished the hmewrk,haven’t yu?” my mther asked.→My mther asked me whether/if I had finished the hmewrk.5.选择疑问句:变为连词引导的宾语从句。“D yu g t schl by bus r by bike?”he asked.→He asked me whether I went t schl by bus r by bike.
    6.祈使句:变为不定式短语,常用ask/tell/rder sb t d sth结构。He said t me,“Cme as early as pssible,please.”→He asked me t cme as early as pssible.7.感叹句:通常变为what或hw引导的宾语从句,也可变为that引导的宾语从句或其他灵活的句式。“Hw happy I am!” he said.→He said hw happy he was./He said that he was very happy.
    温馨提示1.宾语从句要用陈述语序。 2.祈使句变为间接引语时,根据语气的客气程度,可变为ask/tell/rder sb t d sth等结构。
    二、直接引语变为间接引语时,从句的谓语动词在时态方面要做出相应的变化。1.一般现在时变为一般过去时。He said,“I’m afraid I can’t finish the wrk befre dark.”→He said (that) he was afraid he culdn’t finish the wrk befre dark.2.一般过去时变为过去完成时。He said,“I came t help yu.”→He said (that) he had cme t help me.
    3.一般将来时变为过去将来时。She said,“I’ll d it after class.”→She said (that) she wuld d it after class.4.现在进行时变为过去进行时。He said,“I’m using the knife.”→He said that he was using the knife.5.现在完成时变为过去完成时。She said,“I’ve nt heard frm him since May.”→She said (that) she had nt heard frm him since May.
    6.过去完成时不变。He said,“I had finished my hmewrk befre supper.”→He said (that) he had finished his hmewrk befre supper.7.将来进行时变为过去将来进行时。Susan said,“I will be waiting fr yu at my hme.”→Susan said that she wuld be waiting fr me at her hme.
    8.将来完成时变为过去将来完成时。The teacher said,“We will have finished the whle textbk by the end f this term.”→The teacher said that they wuld have finished the whle textbk by the end f that term.
    温馨提示直接引语转换为间接引语时,总的原则是向过去推一个时态。但在下列情况下,从句时态一般不用改变: 1.当主句谓语动词为一般现在时时。 He always says,“I am tired ut.” →He always says that he is tired ut. 2.当主句谓语动词是一般将来时时。 He will say,“I’ll try my best t help yu.” →He will say that he will try his best t help me.
    3.当直接引语为一般过去时,并与具体时间连用时。 She said,“I went t England in 2000.” →She said that she went t England in 2000. He said,“When I was a child,I usually played ftball after schl.” →He said that when he was a child,he usually played ftball after schl.
    4.当直接引语是客观真理或自然现象时。 The teacher said,“The earth mves arund the sun.” →The teacher said that the earth mves arund the sun. 5.当直接引语是谚语、格言时。 He said,“Practice makes perfect.” →He said that practice makes perfect.
    6.当直接引语是过去完成时或过去进行时时。 They said,“We had eaten in that restaurant befre.” →They said that they had eaten in that restaurant befre. She said,“Tm was parking the car ver there.” →She said that Tm was parking the car ver there.
    三、直接引语变为间接引语时,人称代词、物主代词和名词性物主代词等要做出相应的调整。He said,“I like it very much.” →He said (that) he liked it very much.He said t me,“I have left my bk in yur rm.” →He tld me (that) he had left his bk in my rm.
    四、直接引语变为间接引语时,从句中的指示代词、时间状语、地点状语及某些动词也要做出相应的变化。
    She said,“I will cme this evening.”→She said that she wuld g that evening.“I will cme here again tday,” he said.→He said that he wuld g there again that day.“Please wait fr me at the gate f the Summer Palace at tw tmrrw afternn,” Kate said t her friend.→Kate asked her friend t wait fr her at the gate f the Summer Palace at tw the next afternn.
    句型转换(1)“I am ging t the cinema,” she said.→She said  that she was ging t the cinema . (2)Mr Lin said,“Can yu hear me,children?”→Mr Lin asked the children  whether/if they culd hear him . 
    (3)He asked us,“Hw many car factries have been built in yur cuntry?”→He asked us hw many car factries  had been built in ur cuntry . (4)He asked me,“Yu are a dctr,aren’t yu?”→He asked me  whether/if I was a dctr . (5)I asked him,“Will yu take a bus r take a train?”→I asked him  whether/if he wuld take a bus r take a train . 
    (6)“Put up yur hands,” the teacher said t them.→The teacher tld them  t put up their hands . (7)The ld wrker said t us,“Dn’t frget the past.”→The ld wrker tld us  nt t frget the past . (8)“What a brave by yu are!” she tld him.→She tld him  what a brave by he was . (9)“I brke yur CD player,” he said t me.→He tld me (that)  he had brken  my CD player.
