设计说明 本课时学习询问信息的相关对话。教学时通过复习导入新课,然后让学生讨论一些公共场所的特征,过渡到1a与1b的活动中。通过不同的任务对听力材料加以处理,让学生多维度地利用听力材料。 教学目标 通过本课时的学习,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 (1)单词及短语:fascinating, inexpensive, uncrowded, convenient, mall, clerk, corner。 (2)学习描述地点特征的形容词,并能够谈论不同地点的特征。 2.能力目标 学习听取具体信息并做记录。 3.情感目标 学会在不同的场合使用得体的语言,礼貌待人。 重点难点 1.重点:让学生掌握本课时中所涉及的重点单词、短语和用法。 2.难点:让学生能够联系实际,运用“by + v.-ing”结构谈论自己的学习方法,并能为别人提供合理的建议。 教学准备 PPT课件,1c、1d的录音 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Make a dialogue between a tourist and a guide. For example: A: Excuse me, do you know where the nearest bank is? B: Sure. Go down this street for about 10 minutes, and then you’ll see it on your right. A: Could you please tell me where I can buy some fruit? B: Sure. There’s a fruit shop across from the street. A: Could you please tell me if there’s a good restaurant around here? B: Yes. Go along this street and then turn right. It’s beside a supermarket. A: Could you please tell me how to go back to the hotel? B: Sure. Go past the first crossing and the hotel is on your right. A: Thank you very much! B: You are welcome. Step 2 Discussion Get the students to discuss the quality of some public places. What qualities(特征) do they have? Fun Times Park fun/interesting library quiet playground big street crowded/busy What qualities are important for these places? restroom clean museum interesting/quiet/uncrowded/fascinating restaurant clean/inexpensive/comfortable park clean/beautiful subway safe/convenient/uncrowded mall inexpensive/convenient/crowded/big Step 3 Work on 1a What qualities are important for each place? Write the words from the box next to each place below. Write the most important words first.

Post-listening Role-play conversations 1 and 2. Conversation 1 Boy: Could you tell me where there’s a good place to eat? Clerk: Of course. There are a lot of good restaurants in Sunville. What kind of food are you looking for? Boy: I’d like fresh vegetables. Clerk: I’d try Green Land. They have delicious salads. Conversation 2 Girl: Do you know if there are any public restrooms around here? Clerk: Yes. You’ll find some at the corner of Market and Middle Streets. Girl: Umm…Are they clean? Clerk: Oh, yes. They’re very clean. Step 6 Pair work Role-play the conversations between the clerk and the tourists. A: Can you tell me where there’s a good place to eat? B: Of course. What kind of food do you like?
