    设计说明

    本单元是复习单元,集中总结和练习巩固形容词和副词最高级的用法,复习巩固本模块的重点单词、短语和句型。从指导朗读Language practice中的句子入手,引入语法的集中讲解,紧跟上单元所设习题进行针对性训练和当堂训练,使学生达到熟练运用语法和重点词汇的程度。另外,在本课还安排了听力训练和家庭旅行计划制订的实践性环节。

    教学目标

    通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    (1)复习巩固本模块所学的生词和短语。

    (2)复习巩固形容词和副词最高级的用法。

    2.能力目标

    (1)能熟练运用形容词和副词的最高级。

    (2)制作家庭旅行计划。

    3.情感目标

    热爱旅行,放眼世界,开阔自己的视野。

    难点形容词和副词最高级在具体语境中的运用

    Step 1 Language practice

    1. Present the key sentences in the box to the class. Read them with the whole class.

     

     

     

     

     

    Step 2 Grammar summary

    Sum up the grammar together with the whole class.

    形容词和副词的最高级

    一、用法

    当我们将三个或三个以上的人或事物进行某一特征的比较时,要用形容词或副词的最高级来表达。

    Daming is the tallest boy in his class.

    大明在他班里是最高的男孩。

    Tony lives the farthest from school.

    托尼住得离学校最远。

    二、形容词和副词最高级的构成

    1. 规则变化。单音节词和少数双音节词在词尾加-est多音节词和大部分双音节词在前面加most具体见下表:

    2. 不规则变化。有些形容词和副词的最高级变化是不规则的,这些词需要特殊记忆。

    三、形容词和副词最高级句型的一些标志词

    1. in…among…表示在某一范围内

      Jack writes the most carefully in his class. 杰克在他班里写字最认真。

      This cartoon is the most popular among the young.

      这部卡通片在年轻人中是最受欢迎的。

    2. of…表示在并列的同类中

      Lingling is the shortest of the four girls. 在这四个女孩之中,玲玲个子最矮。

    3. one of + the +形容词最高级+复数名词  表示“最…………之一”

      Shanghai is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

      上海是世界上最美丽的城市之一。

    四、注意事项

    1. 在句子中,形容词最高级前通常加定冠词the,但前面如果有形容词性物主代词或名词所有格等限定词时,不需再加the

       Wang Lin’s home is the closest to school.王琳的家离学校最近。

       Tom is my best friend.

       汤姆是我最好的朋友。

    2. 副词最高级的前面,可以加定冠词the也可以不加。

       Mike runs (the) most slowly of the three boys.

       在这三个男孩之中迈克跑得最慢。

    Step 3 Practice

    1. Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words in brackets.

    (1) Ask the students to complete the sentences on their own.

    (2) Check answers in groups.

    Answers:

    1 longest; slowest  2 fastest  3 cheapest  4 fastest  5 most expensive

    (3) Get the students to pay attention to the key word theand the two forms of making superlatives.

    2. Complete the conversation with the sentences in the box.

    (1) Ask the students to read the sentences and the questions.

    (2) Ask the students to work out the answers on their own.

    (3) Check answers in groups.

    Answers:

    (4) Ask the students to practice the conversation in pairs.

    3. Complete the conversation with the correct form of the words in the box.

    (1)Ask the students to read the conversation and think about the missing words.

    (2) Ask them to complete the conversation on their own and then check answers with their partners.

    4. Complete the word map.

    (1) Do an example with the class.

    (2) Ask the students to complete the word map on their own and then check answers in pairs.

    Answers:

    5. Work in pairs. Choose a place you would like to visit. Ask and answer the questions about the ways by which you can get there. (Activity 5 on Page 31)

    (1) Ask the students work in pairs and choose a place they would both like to visit.

    (2) Get them to ask and answer in pairs.

    (3) Select some pairs to ask and answer.

    6. Complete the email with the words in the box. (Activity 6 on Page 32)

    (1) Go through the words in the box with the class.

     

     

    (2) Tell the students to read the email and complete it with the words in the box.

    (3) Check the answers.

    Answers:

    (1) book   (2) travel  (3) cost  (4) choice  (5) trip

    (4) Ask some students to read the email aloud.

    Step 4 Listening

    1. Listen and match the cities with the information. (Activity 7 on Page 32)

    (1) Ask the students if they know about the four cities. Make sure they have known them and know how to read them.

     

     

     

     

     

    (2) Tell them to read through the information and try to match it with the cities before reading.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    (3) Play the recording, and let the students match the cities with the information.

    (4) Play the recording once more for them to check answers.

    Answers:

    2. Listen again and answer the questions. (Activity 8 on Page 33)

    (1) Ask the students to read the questions first and check if they understand the meaning.

    (2) Play the recording and ask the students to take notes.

    (3) Ask some students to answer the questions and correct the answers.

    1 London.

    2 Oxford and Cambridge.

    3 Cambridge.

    4 Big BenBuckingham Palace and Tower Bridge.

    (4) Listen to the recording again. Show the typescript at the same time if necessary.

    (5) Ask the students to ask and answer the questions in pairs.

    Step 5 Around the world

    T: What can you see in the picture?

    S: I can see a train.

    T: Yes. And the railway is the longest in the world.

    Let the students read the short passage and answer their questions if they have any.

    Step 6 Module task

    1. Work in groups. Make a holiday plan for a family trip to a city in China. (Activity 9 on Page 33)

    (1) Put the students in groups of 3-4 and ask them to choose a city they all like.

    (2) Make a list of things to do and see there.

    (3) Ask each group to present their plans to the class and take notes about other groups plans.

    2. Work in groups. Choose the best plan. (Activity 10 on Page 33)

    (1) Ask each group to compare the different plans using their notes, and then discuss to decide which one is the best.

    (2) Ask each group to speak their decision and explain the reason.

    Step 7 Homework

    1. Go over what you’ve learnt in Unit 3.

    2. Preview the new words and expressions in Module 5.
