设计说明 首先,展示手机、电脑和高铁的图片,谈论它们对人们生活的影响。接着,利用游戏和翻译短语的方式复习本单元的生词和短语,完成教材中Building Your Vocabulary的练习。然后,学习本单元的语法——定语从句,并完成Grammar in Use中的练习。至于Putting It All Together的内容,除了完成教材中的任务外,再设置一些相关的阅读任务来加深对文章的理解。最后,处理Self-Evaluation的内容。本课节主要复习整个单元的内容,从单词到短语,从语法到阅读,体现了由知识到能力的练习思路。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握本单元新学的单词、短语和句型; 掌握本单元的语法:定语从句。 2. 能力目标 (1)能听懂有关谈论科学的内容; (2)能描述实验过程,并能谈论科学对我们日常生活的影响。 3. 情感目标 尊重事实,尊重科学,能用科学的思维解释生活中的现象。 重点难点 1. 重点:掌握本单元的语法:定语从句。 2. 难点:能描述实验过程,并能谈论科学对我们日常生活的影响。 教学准备 PPT 课件;课文音频。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Free talk Show the class pictures and get the class to talk about how the inventions affect our everyday life.
Step 2 Review 1. Review the important words learnt in this unit by playing a game. Make the words flash on the screen and get the class to read and translate them.
2. Review the important phrases. Get the class to translate the following phrases into English.
Step 3 Building Your Vocabulary Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box.

And explain how to join them together. Then tell the class what the attributive clauses are.
2. Explanation 定语从句 (1)概念 定语从句:在复合句中,修饰某一名词或代词作定语的从句。 关系词:引导定语从句的词。 先行词:被定语从句修饰的名词或代词。
(2)关系词 ①分类 引导定语从句的关系词有关系代词和关系副词,常见的关系代词有:that, which, who, whom, whose 等,常见的关系副词有:where,when,why等。 ②作用 关系词在句中有三个方面的作用: a. 连接作用:连接先行词和定语从句 b.成分作用:关系词在定语从句中作句子成分 c.指代作用:关系词所指代的内容就是先行词 (3)关系词的用法 that既可用于指人,也可用于指物。 在定语从句中可作主语或宾语,作主语时不可省略,作宾语时可省略。 Tom likes music that is quiet and gentle. 物 主语 This is the man that I want to help. 人 宾语(可省) which用于指物。 在定语从句中可作主语或宾语,作主语时不可省略,作宾语时可省略。 The tree which is from Africa is very tall and valuable. 物 主语 I like the computer which I bought yesterday. 物 宾语(可省)
who,whom用于指人。 who用作主语,whom用作宾语。在口语中,有时可用who代替whom。 All of us believe in the boy who never tells lies. 人 主语 The boy whom/who I met yesterday is my good friend. 人 宾语 (4)that与which的区别 ①先行词为物,只用that的情况: a.先行词被序数词或形容词最高级修饰时 Journey to the West is the most interesting TV play that I have watched. 《西游记》是我看过的最有趣的电视剧。 b.先行词是不定代词时 Is there anything that I can eat? 有我能吃的东西吗? c.先行词被 the only, the very, the same, the last 等词修饰时 This is the same watch that I lost. 这就是我丢失的那块手表。 【注意】 下列两种情况也只能用that。 a.先行词里同时含有人或物时。 He can remember the persons and pictures that he saw in the room. 他能记得他在那个房间里看到的人和照片。 b. 主句是以who或which开头的特殊疑问句时。 Who is the boy that is crying? 正在哭泣的那个男孩是谁? ②先行词指物,只用which的情况: a.先行词为that,those等时 What’s that which under the desk?书桌下面的东西是什么? b.关系代词前有介词时 This is the classroom in which we studied last year. 这就是我们去年在里面学习的那间教室。 (5)主谓一致问题 当关系代词在从句中作主语时,从句谓语动词的单复数形式应与先行词的单复数形式保持一致。 My friends love the songs that have great lyrics. 我的朋友们喜欢歌词很棒的歌曲。 It is a song that has great lyrics.那是一首歌词很棒的歌曲。 Step 5 Grammar in use I. Circle the correct relative pronouns. 1. Have you ever spoken to the people (who/which) live next door? 2. Here is the book (who/that) you were looking for. 3. There is a program on TV (that/what) you might like. 4. What is the name of that woman (who/whom) just came in? 5. The girl to (who/whom) the teacher is talking is my younger sister. 6. Here are the pens (which/who) I bought yesterday. Answers: 1. who 2. that 3. that 4.who 5. whom 6. which II. Combine the sentences to make attributive clauses. 1. I have a friend. My friend enjoys listening to music. _______________________________________________ 2. This is the boy. The boy won the singing competition. _______________________________________________ 3. The book is very interesting. Li Ming lent me the book. ________________________________________________ 4. Brian gave me a bag. The bag was full of books. _______________________________________________ 5. I’ll show you around the park. I like the park best. _______________________________________________ Answers: 1. I have a friend who/that enjoys listening to music. 2. This is the boy who/that won the singing competition. 3. The book (which/that) Li Ming lent me is very interesting. 4. Step 6 Listening Listen to the passage and put the sentences in the correct order. □Students also learn the right scientific attitude— a respect for truth. □They do experiments in the lab. □Later, they discuss problems with their teachers and classmates. □In science classes, students learn about scientific research and methods. □How do students learn science in school? □They study theories and methods in textbooks. □Science classes are important for high school students.
