副词(Adverb 简称adv.)是指在句子中表示行为或状态特征的词，用以修饰动词、形容词、其他副词或全句，表示时间、地点、程度、方式等概念。

He ate his dinner very quickly.

一般说来，副词主要用来修饰动词、形容词和副词。1. She plays the pian badly. 2. I’m really tired after last night’s tennis match. 3. The teacher speaks very slwly and carefully.
1. He is a fast learner. 他学得很快。2. Dn't drive s fast! 别把车开得这么快！3. He learnt t play the pian at an early age. 他早年就学会了弹钢琴。4. We arrived early the next day. 我们第二天很早就到达了。5. She's late fr wrk every day. 她每天上班都迟到。6. She has t wrk late tmrrw. 她明天得熬夜工作。
有些词既可以作形容词也可以作副词。
形容词通常位于系动词之后或名词之前。
副词修饰动词时通常出现在行为动词（实义动词）之后。
副词与形容词在位置及功能上不同。
副词比较级副词比较级和形容词比较级的变化形式大致相同，也分为规则变化和不规则变化两种。例如：1. We are training harder because we want t win. 2. This year we are training mre carefully. 3. Sam did better this year than last year.
单音节词在词尾直接加-er
部分双音节和多音节的词在词前加mre
