In 2015 Google started Google Expeditions, a free app with virtual reality (VR). It is a tool（工具）for classroom use. It allows teachers to act as “guides”, taking their students on a virtual（虚拟的）field trip to any place in the virtual world, at any time in history.

To use Google Expeditions, a user wears a headphone connected to a computer or mobile phone to experience a 3D setting. With these, its scenes（场景）and sounds seem real. The user can “move” around in it.

Now Google Expeditions offers more than 600 virtual field trips.
