    教学目标

    1. Students can master the phrases and sentence patterns of this lesson.
    2. Students can use “What are they doing?” They are… What is … doing? She is…/ He is…/ It’s…”

    教学重点

    Be able to understand and speak the sentence pattern of this lesson.“What are they doing?” They are… What is … doing? She is…/ He is…/ It’s…”

    教学难点

    1. Cultivate students ability to use dialogue in actual situations.

    2. The structural features of the sentence pattern when the subject is different person (singular and plural) in the present continuous tense.

    教学准备

    Teacher preparation: multimedia courseware, textbook recordings

    Student Preparation: Pre-class preparation

    教学过程

    1. Warm-up & lead-in

    (1)Teacher leads students to say the chant together.

    (Students can warm up by saying the chant.)

    2. Presentation

    (1) Ask students to observe the picture and guess the content of the picture.

    (2) Play the animation of activity 1, and students will watch it with questions.

    (3)Imitate for the second time, students answer the questions.

    (This part presents the content of this lesson to the students, and assigns the tasks after learning this lesson to the students, so that the students can study purposefully, and let the students know the tasks of this lesson and what they can do in English after learning this lesson.)

    (4) Ask students to observe the pictures and think about the questions of activity 2.

    (5) Play the audio of activity 2, students' can get a overall perception (the first time).

    (6) Listen to the tape (the second time) and answer the questions. Teach the phrases.

    (7) Follow the text (the third time) and practice reading the text.

    (8) Listen to the tape and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.

    (9) Students show their reading on the platform.

    (In the process of listening, following and imitating, let students feel the rhythm of English and correct their pronunciation.)

    1. Practice

    (1) Look at the pictures and fill in the blanks, then answer the questions.

    (2) Explain the key and difficult point.

    (3) Read and tick (√). Then ask and answer.

    (4) Listen and say. Then sing.

    (5) Do and say. Group activities: group members play the game of "snowball" and make corresponding actions in the process of speaking.

    (6) Draw, ask and answer. Each person draws a simple stroke of character action and asks each other what the characters are doing.

    (Through picture description, students practice and comprehensively apply the knowledge of the present continuous tense to complete the task of this lesson.)

    教学反思

    What we need to focus on is the structural features of the sentence patterns: “What’s … doing? It’s…” when the subjects are different persons (singular and plural) in the present continuous tense. In class, we should arouse and cultivate students' interest in learning English, and make them actively participate in classroom practice activities, so as to cultivate their sense of cooperation.
