Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Greet the class. 2. Oral communications. 3. Repeat the dialogue learned last period. 4. Repeat the chant. Present some pictures to review the vocabula -ry about clothes. Step 2 Presentation & Practice Read, write and say 1. Present a picture and say This is a scarf. It’s my scarf. We can also say it’s mine. 2. Focus on my scarf and mine. Have Ss make more sentences which contain my… and mine. 3. Point to a object. And say It’s your T-shirt. It’s yours. 4. Focus on your T-shirt and yours. Have Ss make more sentences which contain your… and yours. 5. Continue with the remaining pictures by using the structures Is this yours/Are these yours? 6. Play the tape and let the Ss point to the appropriate sentences as t listening. 7. Have the Ss write down the missing words, and then, check the answers. 8. Listen and repeat the dialogues. 9. Ask the Ss to read the dialogue aloud. 10. Encourage the Ss to make new dialogues and then act out. Read and number 1. Show objects and demonstrate a dialogue about shopping with the Ss. Pay much attention to use the sentence structures: Can I help you? How much are these/those? Oh, that’s too expensive. 2. Work in pairs and then perform their own conversations. 3. Have Ss read the sentences and put them in the right order. 4. Check the answers. 5. Have Ss read the dialogues. Step 3 Consolidation & Extension 1. Write say or more sentences that contain my…and mine/your….and yours. 2. Have Ss make new dialogues about shopping. 3. Praise all attempts. 4. Do some exercises. A. Read and choose. B. Correct the mistakes. C. Read and write. Step 4 Summary & Homework 1. Check the difficulties. (words and sentences) 2. Do homework. A. Read and act out the dialogue. B. Make new dialogue about shopping. |
