Step 1

1. Read the sentences about the end of the story in 1a and complete the task in 1a.
2.  Write the ending of the story and discuss with your partner. What is the end of the story.

Step 2 Listening

1. Listen for the first time and complete the task 1c in your textbook.
2. Listen to the tape for the second time and complete the task 1d in the textbook.
3. Listen and repeat the monologues and dialogues.

Step 3 Discussion

1. Discuss ideas about the happiness of the poor.
2. Role-play what you hear. The teacher encourages and helps the students and listens to the tape again if necessary.
