    impress sb. with sth. 意为“用……给某人留下印象”。
    The girl impressed her friends with her excellent drawing skills.

    【拓展】impressin 名词,意为“印象”。
    2. Yu either take the lead r fall behind. 你要么领先,要么落后。
    (1) 意为“不是……就是……; 或者……或者 ……”。其用法如下:
    ① 表示两种可能性中任选一种,其后面连接两个相同的句子成分。
    ②连接的两个名词或代词作主语时,谓语动词与最靠近它的主语保持一致。

    (2)take the lead(领先)和fall behind(落后)是一组反义短语。

    (1) cnnect…with/t… 把……与……相连
    If yu cnnect yur cmputer with the Internet, yu can search fr sme infrmatin n the Internet.如果你把电脑跟网络连接,你就可以在网上搜索信息了。
    (2) cnnecting… 是现在分词短语作定语,修饰前面的the high-speed railway。

    (1) miss的用法:
    ①miss 名词,意为“错误, 过失”。

    ②miss 及物动词,意为“错过,失去”。

    我错过了末班车,只好坐出租车回家。
    ③miss 及物动词,意为“想念,思念”。

    (2) as gd as 意为“几乎,简直是”。

    没有眼镜,我的奶奶简直跟盲人一样。
    After cleaning, my bedrm is as gd as a new ne.
    打扫过后,我的卧室简直跟新的一样。
    【拓展】as gd as还表示“和……一样好”。
    My handwriting is as gd as hers. 我的书法跟她的一样好。
    5. All f us knw that it’s necessary t pay attentin t every detail. 我们都知道注意每一处细节是非常有必要的。
    (1)“It is + adj. + t d sth.”意为“做某事是……的”, it是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的动词不定式。
    It’s necessary t d exercise everyday.每天做运动是有必要的。
    (2)pay attentin t 意为“注意”,后跟名词、代词或动名词。
    Please pay attentin t listening carefully t teachers.请注意认真听老师说。
    Yu shuld pay attentin t the safety instructins.你应该注意安全说明。
    6.“As a dctr, yu can’t be t careful,” she said.“作为一名医生,再怎么仔细也不为过,”她说。
    Cannt(can’t)... t... 意为“无论……也不过分”,“越(愈) ……越(愈)好”。
    One cannt be t mdest. 一个人越谦虚越好。
    He can’t be t careful when he des everything.
    他做一切事情的时候,无论怎样小心也不算过分。
    7. Carelessness will be a disaster nt nly t urselves but als t patients.
    粗心不但对于我们自己而且对于病人来说都将是一场灾难。
    nt nly... but (als) ... 意为“不但……而且……”,连接两个平行结构,连接主语时,谓语动词遵循“就近原则”。

    她不仅钢琴演奏得好,而且还会作曲。

    不仅他喜欢画画,他父母也喜欢。

    (ding) sth. 意为“把……贡献于……”。
